The first challenge involved is the lack of employee involvement from Suzie. Her mother’s death triggers this case. The company is likely to register declined performance due to the occurrence. She has not generally been working to the maximum since her mother’s death shook her immensely thus affecting her mental well-being. According to Dickmann, Brewster, and Sparrow (2016), the safety and health of employees are essential to the entire performance’s degree of any company, and if any employee faces a mental challenge, HR should be involved to figure out the cause and how it can be solved. Therefore, it will take the intervention from management and colleagues to restore Suzie’s performance.
The second challenge involves absenteeism on the size of Suzie. Her situation makes her miss work some times which is a violation of the rules and regulations of the company. Neglecting rules of the company can lead to poor work quality in an organization and HR should be in a position to handle the issue timely as cited in Noe et al. (2017). Since Suzie has told other employees that she has not been concentrating on her work, the management should consider giving her some time off.

The third challenge is that both Suzie and the organization are deteriorating in various ways. For Suzie, taking pills while at work interferes with her performance as she may not be in a position to attend to a task when required. In this light, she has committed minor mistakes at work due to lack of concentration. Similarly, the organization will register reduced productivity since Suzie is not as productive as she used to be. More so, colleagues that worry about her may also lose concentration in their responsibilities. Therefore, the Company should take her case seriously and get her immediate professional help.
