College education is important as it gives one an opportunity to gain professional knowledge as well as life skills. However, the high tuition fees as well as living expenses, tend to limit the number of students who are admitted in colleges annually. Additionally, another section of the admitted students drop out of college due to lack of fees and other expenses. Those who are able to complete their education spend the first few years of their employment paying off student loans. Offering free college education to American youth will help students focus more on their education without fear of accumulating future debts. This will further improve the economy by opening up the job market to more graduates as well as lowering the debt rates in the country.

Free college education reduces the strain that students go through. The stress of organising for funds to finance education while still studying is difficult. It leads to exhaustion as the affected student must work long hours. The student is not exempt from the same work load that his non working college mates are exposed to. This puts additional pressure on the student as one is forced to attend to their assignments and classes while still working for almost a full work days hours. This challenge does not allow the student to enjoy campus interactions such as retreats and other recreational activities. Free education will further help the students to concentrate completely on their studies. This will rid the students of fears associated with debt and crippling student loans. The life of a student in college is simplified by the provision of funds for their whole education. Critics argue that this move may devalue the college degree and leave it prone to misuse. This is unlikely to happen as entry requirements will not be changed. The criteria for admission will be the same.

The offer of free education will improve the economy by offering graduates who chose their desired programme. Sometimes, students tend to enroll for a certain coourse against one’s will. Such a decision is influenced by the high costs that are a vital part of the degree program. College programmes such as medicine and law require a generous capital injection. This discourages those students who feel that they cannot afford such expenses. Free education will help the economy because each student will pick a course based on their interest and drive. The job market will receive graduates who were happy studying the course they were genuinely interested in. Some oppose this move by arguing that the students leave college without a budgeting or working understanding of money. This can be solved by including a money management course in the diploma course outline (Pingel et al., 2016).

Lastly, free education will eliminate the soaring local internal debt. Graduates will no longer begin calculating their debt from the first paycheck. The peace of mind that comes with a debt free future helps graduates start life on an equal grounding. This leads to fair competition based on their ability and skills. It will further lessen economic crimes that may result from desperate efforts to make money quickly. The formation of paid private colleges as well as free public colleges will give a chance to those who choose to avoid the overcrowding from additional enrollment.

The provision of free college education is a welcome amendment that would rapidly turn around the educational sector. More students will enrol and study without stress because the cost will be removed. The economy will benefit from well-baked graduates as the absence of fees will reduce the debt rates significantly. Free education is a viable and possible solution that would improve the student life as well the economy as a whole (Pingel et al., 2016).
