Education and liberalism are probably the main drivers of social change in the society today. People who are learned and can think independently are likely to come up with ideas that might look crazy to some people but with persistence they are picking up. For example, same sex family styles. Marriage and family are some of the main social cornerstones that have experienced dynamism, diversity and some of the best supports and worst criticisms. Family styles can be big families, single person families and same sex families. Job opportunities for both gender and the ability of women to earn like their male counterparts play a crucial role in the ever changing family styles (Parveen, 2016).

Theoretically, it is believed that parents and children should live together in a close relationship type of association. The parents would then ensure that the children know almost all their relatives. Mostly, family members lived together and cared for one another. That is not the case today. Many things pertaining the type of families have changed because of the many people who are not married, those who divorced and some who choose certain ways of life. Today there are many families in which both spouses are of the same sex. Same sex marriage has been legalized in the United States and people are free to marry from any kind of sex so long as they choose to live with them. Men live with men and women with women making up a family type where their “gender” is defined by the role they took at marriage (Ogolsky, 2016). These people find it interesting to them to share their marriage life with people of the same sex and therefore, have to be legally accepted and allowed to lead such lives; it is their autonomous choice and it has to be respected. Today, same sex marriages are becoming more common in the United States and the whole worl generally as more people have become tolerant of gayism and lesbianism.

There are also people who believe in leading the rest of their lives or their current life as single person families. They believe that they do not need anybody else to be part of the family. To them, they are perfect without a partner of any kind and they would do things on their own. There are a number of such families in the whole world and in the United States. Usually, they function as any other family and are complete on their own. They believe they do not belong to the kind of associations where people pretend to love each other when there is no love at all. To them, the conventional families are a waste of time and resources since they can make it on their own, at times in a better way than the married folks.

Lastly, the family style where every person knows is a family. At many people have acquired education and are more tolerant towards people who are from different backgrounds, they are more accommodative of people from other economic, religious, cultural and racial backgrounds. These families tend to have large numbers of people because those who share in the same ideologies as well as those connected in a way or two make up the family (Scanzoni, 2016). To them those people who live close to them or work with them are also part of their family and take a good share of attention when need be. Today, most people work away from their homes and they live close to where they work. This leads to the formation of the work families that take care of their welfare in the absence of the real families. Some of them have been very successful and have helped the people in a number of ways.
