India has a population of around 1.3 billion, and it is ranked amongst the leading countries facing extreme temperatures, air pollution, and health challenges (NIEHS, 2018). Air pollution causes rapid climate change, which causes various other effects such as increased vector-borne diseases and extreme heat in some areas. Various challenges faced by India include the lack of environmental data to facilitate more profound analysis of the impact and extent of air pollution and climatic change. However, according to NIEHS (2018), the involvement of various stakeholders such as the government and the population is vital in solving such climatic changes.
Through the involvement of the community, the various authorities can create action plans through public health in various ways of handling extreme temperatures. These include the use of community-based approaches to improve sanitation and encourage recycling through mobilizing children. Installment of reversed osmosis drinking water plants to create access to clean drinking water. Collaborating with groups such as WHO which to creates more viable scientific solutions. Impact of climate change is complicated further by the prevalent malnutrition facing population, which increases the prevalence of diseases due to extreme temperatures (V. Ramana Dhara, 2018). Additionally, it also affects food security since India heavily depends on agriculture, which is relatively dependent on the weather (NIEHS, 2018).

However, according to NIEHS (2018), this led to the creation of Understanding Climate and Health Associations in India (UCHAI), which includes researchers, professionals, governmental and non-governmental organizations and academic institutions. They majorly focused on the impacts and various approaches of combating the menace to promote resilience in India through focusing on outreach, communication, and training (NIEHS, 2018). Before reviewing this podcast, I never had a deep understanding of climate change, air pollution, and health status of India. However, after a thorough review of the podcast, I have a better understanding of the impacts and various solutions adopted by India is solving the climatic change. According to V. Ramana Dhara (2018), the World Health Organization plays a crucial role in addressing such environmental challenges by releasing vital data to evaluate the degree of climatic change. Also, developing measures and regulations to monitor and provide warning under extreme circumstances.
