Classroom Observations Statement
The students and the instructor engaged in different activities in the classroom with the aim of ensuring effective learning and presentation of different concepts. Lesson preparation was that first activity, which involved analysis of content objectives, language objectives and content concepts that increased the ease of assessing. In line with content derivation, supplementary materials were used in conjunction with secondary materials that helped in language vocabulary learning. The instructor presented the student's background experiences that aided in the attainment of the learning objectives. The speech presented in the learning experience was necessary for a comprehensible input presenting a clear explanation of the academic tasks.
Definition of the learning strategies was accompanied by different learning techniques that ensured students effectively employed the learning strategies. The interaction was also part of the learning strategies where students interacted among themselves and the instructor as well. Different practices including the use of manipulatives and hands-on materials were effective for practicing the concepts obtained during the learning experience. The lessons provided by the instructor clearly supported lesson delivery, which was made effective through the employment of learning strategies including students’ engagement. The student’s knowledge had to be tested by reviewing and assessing their skills. Lastly, assessment of student’s comprehension and learning was done subject to all learning objectives defined at the beginning of the course.
