There are many cases where a young child does not get to experience normal development at the early stages of their lives. In such a scenario the child may end up undergoing mental impedance leading to difficulty in speech and other related defects. Two of the most common ailments associated with such growth is Global Development Delay and Intellectual Disability. A clinical approach happens to be the best way to approach the aforementioned ailments in order to attain excellent results as will be illustrated below.

When a child experiences difficulty in communicating and reasoning owing to problems relating to their general mental ability, there is a chance they might be suffering from intellectual Disability (ID). Concurrently, the failure to attain particular milestones at a certain age is commonly referred to as Global Developmental Delay (GDD) (Vasudevan & Suri, 2017). This condition is observable among people before they attain 18 years of age. Besides, the senior adults are also part of those affected. It is estimated that ID has a prevalence of 2.7 among school-going children and 2.17 among adults in England (Vasudevan & Suri, 2017). Additionally, GDD has been observed in 1-3 percent of children below 5 years (Vasudevan & Suri, 2017).

Both conditions can occur with influence from other ailments such as epilepsy though at most times they are independent. Besides, they are phenotypically and genetically heterogeneous (Vasudevan & Suri, 2017). Diagnosis is essential in an instance where individuals are suffering from such ailments. The reason behind this is that the family may be able to find opportunities where clinical trials are available. They are also able to gain access to education on the best way to manage the illness. On the other hand, whole exome sequencing (WES) happens to be the most common approach to diagnosing patients suffering from the two conditions. Additionally, the insight offered is likely to impact classroom instruction since it engenders a step by step approach which is easy to follow.

A clinical approach is undoubtedly the best way to follow when diagnosing individuals suffering from GDD and ID. This is due to the fact that the parents learn on the best ways to contain the ailments. They also get to meet and interact with parents of other children suffering from the same complications (Vasudevan & Suri, 2017). On the other hand, it is very effective based on the fact that it involves a series of trials and steps in a bid to establish the root cause of the matter. Part of the diagnosis process involves reviewing the hereditary history of the patient and also the maternal process. For instance, if the mother consumed any alcohol before the child was born, or whether she took prescription medicines (Vasudevan & Suri, 2017). This is the best process since it maintains ambiguity and ensures that secrecy is maintained.

The best audience for this learning experience would be the parents. The reason behind this involves the fact that they are responsible for taking care of children and adults suffering from ID AND GDD throughout their lives. It is, therefore, imperative that they are offered the best form of education pertaining to the necessary causes of actions to take. In addition to this, this group of audiences is able to learn valuable lessons on the precautions they ought to take to avoid such a situation. In addition to this, they happen to have all the relevant historical information regarding the patient`s condition and can, therefore, be very resourceful in case a trial is in force to try and treat these health complications.

It is evident that the aforementioned insight on GDD and ID is very resourceful. It is likely to assist many individuals, in particular, the parents in order for them to establish what they should do to avoid bearing children suffering from such complications. In the event that their children have the illnesses, it is advisable for them to opt for a clinical trial since it is very resourceful. They are expected to offer all the necessary details regarding their child especially the hereditary history to aid in the process. The procedure maintains secrecy and so there should be no cause for alarm. In regards to the above-established doctrines, it can hence be concluded that the entire process is fundamental since it ensures that the real cause of IDD and GDD is established.
