Mission : the mission is to liberate, raid and secure the POWs held by the Japanese forces. In essence, the mission is to raid the compound holding the POWs and overpower the enemy. However, the primary objective remains to secure and evacuate the POWs. All the forces should be briefed on the main objective of the mission.
Commander’s Intent: the purpose of this attack is to distract the enemy forces as much as possible and liberate the more than 500 POWs in the compound.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Key Tasks :
The Filipino Civilians—the American troops are operating on foreign soil. For this reason, the Filipino civilians aided in providing food and shelter for the troops and POWs that were being rescued. The civilians receive the marching forces and give them food and water as well as important information.
The Filipino Guerrillas—in order to fully subdue the enemy, the American forces will not be enough on their own. For this reason, the guerrilla forces are expected to provide tactical support to the base troops meeting them. Another role of the guerrilla troops is to help in navigating the foreign territory.
The Alamo Scouts—the scouts consist of about more than ten highly skilled men. In this mission, the Alamo troops are expected to meet the 1 st Platoon Charlie Company as they approach the compound. The Alamo scouts are expected to infiltrate the compound after distraction by the Foxtrot Charlie’s in the air.
1 st Platoon Charlie Company—the platoon had been designated the main task to take out the Japanese guards. In essence, the platoon is expected to approach the gate in order to kill the Japanese guard. The attack will give the 2 nd platoon time and Alamo scouts to crawl close to the compound.
2 nd Platoon Charlie Company—while the first platoon is raiding the entrance, the 2 nd Company crawls under the highway toward the rear gate of the compound. Therefore in synch the first platoon attacking the forward gate while the 2 nd positioning themselves to take the guard towers and the rear gates. The platoons are expected to be at their respective gates about 30 minutes into the raid.
2 nd Platoon Foxtrot Company—the foxtrot team is the first to approach the compound, air support will be needed to distract the enemy sufficiently. The first distraction takes places about 30 minutes before the initial attack. Essentially, the foxtrot company will synch with the first platoon attacking the guards. Most of the guards focus is expected to be in the skies while the rest of the teams infiltrate.
End State : The march to Guimba is expected to be done by more than 600 people about 90% of the people are expected to be weak and sickly. The POWs comprise of the 90%. Considering the time of attack, the soldiers are expected to be fatigued as well but not to the POWs extent. Thus, slow movement is expected. About one and a half hours per mile and slower while crossing the river. Assuming that significant 3 miles will be walked before the transport caravans are reached, there is bound to be significant loss of time and people.
Decisive Operation : The march to Guimba is expected to be done by more than 600 people about 90% of the people are expected to be weak and sickly. The POWs comprise of the 90%. About one and a half hours per mile and slower while crossing the river. Shaping Operations : Moving away from the prison to the first concealed location, and establish a defensive perimeter while the 6 th Army sends a regimental combat team to link up, ensures that the rangers lead more than 500 people to safety first. It ensures that the purpose to first liberate the prisoners is achieved. Securing the POWs after crossing the river ensures that the Japanese troops are delayed and visibility for the concealed location is enhanced. Securing a different location will also create significant surprise for the enemy during and incase of pursuit.
BCT Fires : the rear platoon gets overpowered, and the prisoners are transported before the mission, then deployment of support forces will be used to support subdued platoons and block the roads to prevent transportation of prisoners.
BCT ISR : the troops deploy in time, meet the supporting parties, and reach the compound in time to deploy a uniform and organized strike, and surprise attack is efficiently conducted, killing the guards and opening the rear and front gates, the rangers will get to the POWs in time to sweep for any separated ones to evacuate them all to safety with minimal causalities.
Sustaining Operations : Evacuation from the prison will allow for the Japanese to lose time in figuring out the direction and location of the POWs and rescue rangers. Establishing the perimeter in an undisclosed location will give terrain advantage and offer visibility during attack.
Tactical Risk : all the 500 POWs are not evacuated successfully. In case of any delay at the deployment, the undisclosed location to wait will likely be compromised by the reconvened Japanese forces.
