Jurassic Park

This essay depicts that the digital reanimation of dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park manifests humankind’s tormented relationship with other animal species on earth, but also elaborates how technology transforms animals into valuable and more advanced beings. Neither in its production nor its thoughts, the Jurassic Park movie depicted the consequences of human ambition. Spielberg was able to create a bound world using stop-motion whereby he managed to develop an action that blended seamlessly because of a mix of full-scale mechanical dinosaurs with high-speed miniatures.

Spielberg thought on how to do better than the previous productions and therefore put computer-generated graphics into use, the technique that was in a minimal application in other films. Full-sized animatronics was also put in place in Jurassic Park, alongside T-Rex Which was 20 feet high, 40 feet long and weighed 17,500 pounds whereby CGI was mainly in effect. It was tricky for the live actors to pretend and respond to the dinosaurs that were never present with them at the scene whenever CGI was put into practice. The application of CGI however shortened the editing time, as it was easier to blend the shoots into seamless shots.

Coexistence of blockbusters and independent films in America

The two types of films; blockbusters and independent films are so much of importance to studios in America. The resent studio system that is most popular has gradually made changes from what it used to be in the past. Whatever was preferred as a studio system before is no longer one but something else, which is a combination of vertically integrated diligently classified factories that absorb a good number of contractual employees under the creative arts and crafts. The recent studio system, however, operates independently whereby they are subdivided into smaller divisions of a larger studio. As a result of many independent companies being owned by a larger company, they coexist in that, and their positive effect is beneficial both the smaller and the larger company.

Blockbuster films are rated in relation to their star power and abnormal budget. Often, a studio invests heavily in the success of one blockbuster film with the aim of exhausting the benefit. This comes along with the probability of failure at hand. When a lot is invested in a film, much has to be gained for the outcome to be a success. It is also a companied by a firm belief that something good might occur.

Blockbusters independently perform productions frequently. The productions are done with smaller expenditure and often independent of the procreator studio. The independent films are made with high professional perfection in acting, proper direction, screenwriting and many more elements in relation to production. These also come hand in hand with innovation and creativity. These films rely on critical praise to gain the audience as well as word of mouth. Independent films budgets typically little and as a result, a successful one experiences a high profit to cost, and upon failure, low losses are experienced. This allows the big studios to support several of these productions in relation to Blockbuster films.

Blockbuster films and independent films have influenced the action or adventure movies as a genre. However, the majority of these films are blockbusters that have dominated the box office. The action and adventure movies often turn to series and run through multiple films. These films tend to have staying power because of the success of the story or character. However, they are not always blockbusters.

The coexistence of the independent and the Blockbuster film helps in the thriving of the studio system more than it used to before. Whenever one is unable to meet some requirements, the other provides for it. As long as the studios are aware of what promotes there work and able to tolerate that as long as it suffices. These films speak a common language, also offers the studios a simple marketable product, and satisfies the audiences, anticipation and expected options. Many examples of the present day filmmakers provide related elements of traditional or classical genres while elaborating a unique twist on them.
