Collaboration is of utmost importance in ensuring success in learning institutions. It helps in the achievement of learning objectives. Its application to different settings, whether physical or online, is evident. Without a doubt, it is an aspect that has gained prominence in the recent past. This is demonstrated by a wide body of literature on the subject.

Parent and educator perspectives on the benefits of collaborative learning. The authors give a variety of similarities in the thoughts of parents and staff on how collaborative learning could positively complement other learning approaches. Based on the study findings and analysis, it could be right to conclude that one of the biggest strengths of the study is the analysis of different perspectives while at the same time showing how they conform. Due to the above, I strongly agree with the author's conclusion that collaborative learning has additional benefits, especially when coupled with conventional learning approaches. This is because today, many educators prefer the two, an aspect that has resulted in better learning outcomes.

Yadin, A., & Or-Bach, R. (2019). The importance of emphasizing individual learning in the "collaborative learning era".  Journal of Information Systems Education 21 (2), 5.

Yadin and Or-Bach (2019) put emphasis on the need for individual learning in an environment where collaborative learning is prevalent. Furthermore, the authors claim that individual assignments go a long way in ensuring students' understanding of the course materials. Although the study presented is expansive, significant weakness is the author's leaning on individual learning other than showing complementary aspects of the two as it is suggested in the article's title. Regardless, the assertion that personalized learning is fruitful is plausible because it is a system that has been used for long, and it has borne fruits in most circumstances.

Zheng, L., Zhang, X., & Gyasi, J. F. (2019). A literature review of features and trends of technology-supported collaborative learning in informal learning settings from 2007 to 2018.  Journal of Computers in Education 6 (4), 529-561.

Zheng, et al. (2019) present an analysis of collaborative learning in informal settings. The authors put a strong emphasis on the role of technology in aiding collaborative learning in such environments. The study's limitation is, however, in the small scope of the sources used for secondary data collection. Even then, the conclusion about the positive impact of technology on such settings, as well as the need to develop an elaborated framework is agreeable because the two are complementary in ensuring success in such learning environments.

Qiu, R. G. (2019). A systemic approach to leveraging student engagement in collaborative learning to improve online engineering education.  International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning 11 (1), 1-19.

Other than outlining prevalent aspects of online learning, Qiu (2019) also dwells on how to better online engineering classes through collaborative education. The author presents an in-depth analysis of collaborative learning through the collection and analysis of data. Although extensive analysis of data is presented, one of the significant weaknesses of the study is the use of a small sample size; hence, the conclusion made could be negatively influenced. Regardless, the finding by the author that a system-based framework is necessary to ensure students and teachers collaborate in a fruitful manner is undisputed. This is because, in all educational settings, structures are essential in guaranteeing particular learning objectives are achieved.

Lechelt, Z., Rogers, Y., & Marquardt, N. (2019). How Embodied Interactions Manifest Themselves During Collaborative Learning in Classroom Settings.

Lechelt et al.,(2019) emphasize on how instrumental computing toolkits have been in ensuring collaborative learning. The primary aim of the article is to analyze how well children can put into use embodied interaction strategies, a factor that points to their collaborative learning skills. Although the paper is highly informative, one of the most significant weaknesses in the authors' position is the small scope of the study, hence, making the conclusion less plausible. Regardless of the above, however, I agree with the authors that physical-digital interfaces can positively impact on collaborative learning because the assertion above is evident in different learning environments today.

Conclusion

Regardless of the variant views of the importance of collaborative learning among children as well as adults, it is undisputed that literature mainly focuses on the positive aspects. A major theme highlighted in the different articles is the role of technology in such settings. The theme has been one of my personal experiences in learning, as it has significantly influenced my approach to learning. Without a doubt, collaborative learning can be harnessed for the benefit of all stakeholders in learning organizations.
