Many communication theories have stated that men and women communicate differently especially in responding to various stimulus when faced with the same situations men and women have exhibited different behaviors when reacting. Communication which is vital in all aspects of life should be studied to enhance co-existence with others. Genderlect is a term which was coined to show differences inherent to both men and women in their communications (Tannen 1994) . This term was used by Deborah Tannen who is a renowned linguistics professor to explain these differences. Some of the differences in communication according to Tannen include how men express themselves for different reasons and ways. For example, research indicates that men communicate to maintain status while women use it is for intimacy purposes. Besides, research shows that women mostly communicate to express feelings and link themselves emotionally while for men, it is used to report figures and facts.
Another difference is that women may talk less in public than men and they engage more in private talks. Besides, in public forums, men speak more especially when their audience recognizes them, and they would compete with others for top positions. This difference sometimes may result in problems in the event women low a man's status. Men would always feel challenged by women when they speak in public forums, and this may result in conflicts as men fight to retain their positions. A problem of this nature may be avoided in future if both men and women can learn and appreciate these disparities.

Conflicts are also viewed differently by the two genders in which to women it threatens their connections hence they would try to avoid (Kirtley et al., 1999) . In contrast, men would use advance their status and position as after a short fight they assume different hierarchies in their environments. Conversely, women would behave in a manner that reduces the chances of conflicts while some men would see it as an opportunity.
Additionally, men use jokes and stories and talk objectively to raise their status because they feature as intellectuals and heroes where they take it as an opportunity to solve complicated matters. They will ensure that they have defeated others when joking as this also raises their status. In contrast, women would tell stories of their own as victims of various situations and how they are hurt. This approach by women creates an empathetic atmosphere to their audience. Therefore it is evident that disparities in communication between the two genders would cause problems. So in light with the above analysis, it is essential to understand that these differences are natural as people are born with them. Thus we should embrace them and respect each other.
