The UAE needs to implement the excellence models to guide the process of implementation of total quality management in schools. In 2017, the UAE adopted a new Emirati School Model that requires all private and public schools will have one curriculum following Ministry of Education Systems. Moreover, the new system will unify the education sector across the UAE as well as raise the learning and teaching standards. To support the shift in the educational system the UAE government should establish specific national quality award categories. One of the well-known models that the UAE can use is the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). Notably, the model has been widely used to achieve excellence by government agencies and organizations as well as quality award programs across Europe. Particularly, this model offers a sound outline for evaluation and diagnosis of the attained levels of excellence; therefore, leading to constant improvement of learning and teaching. When the UAE adopts the EFQM model in the context of education, the country would achieve performance excellence in schools through leadership that inspires institutional strategy and policy.
