The vision and mission statements of a company are important factors in its strategic plans. These aspects define the goals that the company would desire to achieve in the near future by providing the audience with a clear mental picture. Through the vision and mission statements, the administrative team, their subordinates, and key stakeholders in the firm are well aware of the roles they play towards achieving the goal. These two remarks are an avowal that is set to inspire and energize all individuals that are involved in the operations of the company. The firm uses the statements to give its workers a directive that their jobs and objective tasks are an essential component in achieving the particular outcome. The vision and mission of the organization provides all the critics and supporters of the corporation a baseline from which to judge and assess its performance.
Through these two statements, the organization should be able to clearly depict four major factors in the vision and mission. The first is its customers as it identifies the target market that the company seeks to serve such that it is not compared to other companies serving a different industry. The second factor is defining the needs of the customer where the firm demonstrates its awareness of the niche or problem affecting its customer’s and how its operations in the form of goods and services will help eradicate the issue. The third factor is drawn from the second as the enterprise identifies the products or services that it will provide in its quest to satisfy the needs of the consumer. Finally, the vision and mission statements define the values that the company will incorporate such that it creates a mental picture of the image that it wishes to portray in the performance of its practices. In this regard, the mission and vision statements of a for-profit and non-profit organization would not have such distinct differences.
