As a contemplator, I like to put things into perspective first. Details are very important to contemplators. By understanding what can go wrong and forming elaborate plans for execution, contemplators are able to create narratives to help in making tough decisions. Contemplators can be tough and demanding but are loyal and loving. The two things that are most easy to contemplators are thinking and planning. It is thinking about things that pushes contemplators into actions. Elaborate plans are made by creating narratives in their minds that explain most of the problems they face. Loyalty comes easy to contemplators because they think and plan out even their associations. However, the two things that come difficult to contemplators are their tendency to nag and to want things done to their specifications. It is difficult for contemplators to oversee activities without turning them into micro-management. Contemplators tendency to want things done their way causes friction when working with non-contemplators.
Contemplators can enhance their communication style by learning about the tendencies of other communication styles (Littlejohn, 2002). Learning about other styles of communication will help contemplators to think and plan their interactions with others. They can thus use their strong suits to collaborate with other communicative styles.

Assertors and contemplators work together to make things happen both fast and properly planned out (Blumer, 1969). Since assertors are able to jump on things with more urgency than contemplators, plans would be put into effect faster than they would be handled if both parties were contemplators. Understanding communication styles aids in assessing even the styles of the children and family members being served.
Demonstrators and contemplators work together by allowing each other ample time to deal with issues (Blumer, 1969). Unlike the contemplator and assertor relationship. Demonstrators brain storm more than contemplators and should thus be expected to show more though based on facts. In the same way, understanding the communication style used helps in enhancing the interaction.
