and the tastes and preferences of the consumers. In this accord, the executive, managerial boards of various lucrative firms have relentless involved in revolutionization of the management theories so as foster employee productivity alongside meteoritic business performance. According to Ghoshai (2005), it is fundamentally notable that misguided application of the Directorate principles can result in disturbing implication on the market performance of a business venture. In this regard, it is paramount that ultimate adherence to the stipulations of the management theories is exhibited in conjunction with proficient management capability so as to salvage a business entity from crumbling. In this accord, this critical analysis essay seeks to provide vivid insight into contingency and systems theories of management and derive systematic application of the theories in the current economic platforms.
According to Griffin (2012), the contingency theory of the Directorate implores that a manager displays remarkable flexibility and prowess in making vital executive decisions regarding the prevailing situation at hand. The theory encapsulates the perception that strategies that will be deemed fit for the organization’s current position depend on the enterprise's situation. For instance, if one is leading troops towards a war an autocratic style would be most suitable. On the other hand, a manager of an academic institution such as a university or a healthcare facility may resolve to employ a participative and facilitative leadership style. Therefore, the distinction between the two approaches is the situation.

The systems theory, on the other hand, has been an integral theory in propagating an extensive understanding of organizations and management science. In this regard, the organizational aspects are perceived as components of a system. Thus, a mishap in one element calls for amicable changes to occur. Failure to adjust to the problematic part in the systems tends to crumble the organization’s performance. Therefore, systems theory of management has been cardinal in management studies because it enables managers to adopt a holistic view of the entity. The adoption of systems theory of management has resulted in a paradigm shift in organizational management since managers are capable of predicting future trends and coordinate various aspects of the system. For instance, a firm operating on a global scale has a wide operation base. Therefore, it is paramount that systems management is employed to ensure all the intermediate, associates, and stakeholders are coordinated (Griffin, 2012).
My previous experience as a DJ manager encapsulated a broad range of application of management theories. The core role of a DJmanager is to coordinate and facilitates the day-to-day client activities, negotiate deals on behalf of the client, and manage the customer’s finances. In this accord, I employed the contingency theory when negotiating contracts for my client. For instance, when my client is supposed to perform in a small event, the prices had to be relatively low and vice versa. This flexibility resulted in a high-income generation ultimately. The systems in the entertainment industry are not vast. Therefore, the systems theory was employed to a smaller degree as opposed to the contingency theory. My client’s systems which included agents on the ground scouting for the potential opening was managed using the systems approach. It was vital to ensure every agency is working relentlessly to ensure my client has secured a deal within their area of operation. Therefore, to ensure all the agents were committed to the attainment of the ultimate goal, regular performance audits were conducted to analyze their performance.
According to Jones and George (2003), the industrial revolution, encroachment of technology, and the pursuit of upholding human rights have mitigated massive changes in the understanding and application of management theories. Therefore, the arousal of the need to eradicating the dehumanizing effects of the previous management theories propagated the laying of more attention on unique individual attributes in the organization. The belief that the prosperity of the organization relies on the success of the personnel culminated. Hence, there was a necessity to understand and satisfy the need of the workers in the organization. Ultimately, the sprout of the Human Relation Movement recognized the need to cultivate managerial skills such as career development, delegation, coaching, motivation, mentoring and many other administrative tools. Therefore, the sprout of this paradigm shift implored a great and holistic approach towards the teaching and managerial practice. Therefore, this resulted in the learning and adoption of a systemic view of the organization, which include the identification and truncating the effects of a single person on the entire organization. Hence, the Human Resource Movement spearheaded the adoption of management strategies that encompassed the needs of the personnel thus suiting the current working conditions that demand ethical and legal treatment of employees.
The management is integral in steering the venture towards profitable operations. Therefore, the paradigm shift implores considering the wellbeing of employees as a fundamental aspect towards the achievement of business success. In this regard, application of systems and contingency management theories enables the executive board to ensure all the areas of the venture are functioning in perfect synchrony with the organization’s goals. Also, the management indulges inflexible decision-making to ensure the formulated strategies suit the current organization situation so as to attain a competitive advantage despite the fierce market competition.
A participative and facilitative leadership style as encapsulated by contingency theory is the most efficient managerial design for DJ management. The entertainment industry is synonymous with the administration mishaps whereby the client feels misrepresented and misguided by the Directorate. In this regard, It is paramount that a management style that is flexible given the prevailing circumstances and incorporates the client in the decision-making process is adopted. It is integral that managers work closely with their client to establish their interest. Therefore, informed strategies regarding the client’s business endeavors can be made based on the gathered information. Also, the entertainment industry is prone to changes that would require the employment of a different strategy. In this accord, the management should be flexible enough to embrace the change (McNamara, 2016).
In conclusion, organizational management is a sensitive aspect of the organization. Therefore, the management should take the systems theory into account so as to make decisions that promote the efficient functioning of all aspects of the organization. Also, the contingency theory should in incorporate so as change strategies and policies in light of the current circumstance.
