I spent a few years handling kids suffering from autism at a local daycare center, and this experience was very fulfilling. I felt that there was enough I could to take care of such kids if I attained enough training. It was at this time that I developed a passion for a nursing career. The specific area in nursing that I wish to major in is maternity. I desire to take care of pregnant women and infants.
My view on the bible and biblical truth has changed dramatically in the course of my nursing program. I believed that I chose nursing as a result of my experience, and the biblical truth had nothing to do with it. However, i think now that biblical truth played a huge role in influencing me to choose nursing. The nursing program has enabled me to interpret my actions and determine the meaning of them. The bible urges us to make use of our gifts for the glory of God. Nursing was a gift that I was using to serve God by taking care of pregnant women and infants. Through analyzing my situation, I understand that my way of contributing to the kingdom of God was through fulfilling my nursing duties. My experience during the nursing program has enabled me to put into practice what the bible says. I must ensure that sanctity of life is maintained, besides demonstrating compassion and stewardship in my nursing career.

My nursing experience has improved my faith in God and the bible by eliminating the doubts I had concerning my religion. I believe that my nursing gift comes from above, and I should use it to expand the kingdom of God. My experience has expanded the "hermeneutical circle" in my life as I believe that it offers complete guidance to understanding of one's self. The experience has made me realize that I am part of the Body of Christ, and I should practice the good deeds that Jesus Christ taught us. I must ensure that I make use of my nursing gift at all times so that it is not taken away from me.
