The corporate world consists of people who, in their own right, believe they have a better understanding of global affairs than the general public. Most of their opinions will differ with what the general public feels or sometimes concur with the public for their (corporates') interests. Their immense success in accumulating wealth gives them an entitlement of feeling intelligent and elite (Domhoff, 2013. This essay will discuss how the opinion-shaping network swayed the discussion over the fight for racial justice to serve corporate interests, and how is that opinion aligned with a so-called "true American" way of thinking?

Most corporates back the general public and activists in the fight against racial segregation. In recent times, the US has been hit by a wave of police brutality cases that target the people of color, representing the prejudice that exists in the US. For example, Microsoft has come out strong to condemn racial injustice by attributing it to the lack of fairness, inclusivity, and diversity in the nation. Through the company's CEO, Satya Nandella, the company has vowed to improve African Americans' lives by focusing on its hiring process, pushing for a better justice system, buying from more diverse suppliers, and donating funds to organizations tackling racial inequality (Shankland, 2020). This move was in the accompaniment of other tech CEOs like Google's and Apple's, who also gave a press conference when police murdered George Floyd. Regardless of the federal government's slow move to induce stringent measures to curb racial inequality, these corporate leaders' pledges may push for a bill in Congress that will quickly address this matter. In return, these corporates will increase their sales, revenue, and attract a more extensive consumer base because of their interest in fighting racial justice and impartiality.

The true American way of thinking is attributed to its adherence to the pursuit of happiness, liberty, and life principles. Microsoft is keen to observe these attributes when giving their opinion on racial inequality. The company understands life free of particular social acts like racial prejudice is fulfilling and filled with happiness, which Americans desire.

In conclusion, corporates play a significant role in influencing policy-making processes through their opinions on various matters like racial inequality. The government can easily hear them than the general public. A corporation like Microsoft has taken action like funding organizations fighting racial disparities to benefit from ballooning sales and help fulfill true American thinking.
