The decision making processes is a very critical aspect which helps in ensuring that the best is achieved out of something, for instance, a project or plan among other. The success of a plan or project lies within a successful decision-making process which would encompass all the short term and long term aspects that may show up. Decision-making process if given the emphasis required then success would be investable. For organizations to be successful, they tend to operate by making the most suitable decisions. Managers are usually mandated to staff, plan, control, organize and lead their team effectively in the right direction through executing decisions. The success of managers is usually determined by the quality and effectiveness of the decisions made. Making decisions is very critical when it comes to solving problems which may arise within the organization thus an ongoing process within a company.

Decision making for employees may vary depending on the strengths that they have. Some employees may have more and different strengths while others are only one-sided and therefore can only handle specific tasks and may have difficulties multitasking. Employees who have two different strengths may go well with the team decision making process. For instance, in a scenario where there is need to change for one approaches to another, multiple strength may be required to inform and convince the team members that came up with the first idea and may have already invested in actualizing the idea. Making the decision requires managing emotions and assuring the members that it was the right decision. With the team decision making process individual decision making would be outperformed because minds would be brought together which would encourage sharing and exchanging of ideas. Employees who have two different strengths would easily fit with this decision-making process simply because the diverse perspectives, as well as skills that they have, would greatly benefit the company due to the multiplying effect that it would have to the organization. Teams are a great thing simply because the individuals have multiple strengths can greatly influence the success of the company. What is more, if the team is large then the effort produced would also be huge. Team decision making would keep the team overhead in addition to keeping the employees involved, organized and productive. With the team decision-making process, the skills and strengths of the employees would be fully utilized thus empowering the rest of the employees who would in return help boost productivity.

There are different ways through which the team decision-making processes may be approached so that every employee within the organization would deliver his/her best. In some scenarios company managers are usually faced with numerous decisions which require their attention and therefore must be made each day. Growth in a business is always one of the main goals, as they grow, the need to make decisions every day to keep on the right lane also grows. In addition, they may be carrying with them more serious consequences thus more complicated unlike when the business is still growing. Managers need to ensure that they are in their right minds the moment they decide to make certain decisions for the sake of the company. Managers to ensure that they lead their organization towards the most favorable target, it is important they focus on a number of things which are crucial to gaining the best out of the team decision-making process. Some of these things include having a well-documented plan, working to resolve differences, challenging the employees to consider “what if” question, giving power to the teams so that they can make significant decisions, practicing the art of building consensus (Economy, 2014).

Since the company wants to tap the potential that every employee has by focusing on the whole team rather than individuals would greatly help. When it comes to giving the teams power when it comes to making significant decisions, they feel empowered since they will know that they are trusted. Employees when they have been restricted to make vital decisions for the company, they feel stuck and thus sit on their potential decision making abilities and strengths. They may hold back knowing that the decision that they might have made might be easily overruled by the management which may have a negative impact on their productivity. Employees may have multiple ideas which may give the company a push to success. In order to get the most out of them is by granting the teams the power to make significant decisions. Teams tend to be most effective when they feel trusted and have the mandate of making significant decisions for the company thus do very important work. Giving them power would mean that they would be fully engaged thus giving out their best for the company. Also, employees need to be challenged by the management to consider asking the “what if” question and then put in serious considerations towards them. “What if” questions are very significant since they would help the employees be prepared for the future. The exercise would make employees have an upper hand of preparing for any possible outcomes in advance. Involving the employee teams in the meetings despite their level would help them as questions to keep them on the track and prepare for the future as well as come up with better ideas that they might have been overlooked (Economy, 2014).

Another important thing that has to be ensured is working in a bid to get rid of any differences that may be present or arise. Resolving the difference among the team members would help in building a team which is united and also help in keeping them united thus geared towards the same goal. Disagreements are bound to occur at any moment due to differing ideas, to eliminate this, encouraging unity in the teams would help build greatness. And then, the employees need to be empowered to boost their productivity. Empowering teams may be through different kinds of promotions and rewards. More so, the teams can be empowered by giving them responsibilities. Also trusting them would help them feel empowered thus boosting their productivity. Empowering employees tend to increase their responsibilities towards their jobs in addition to their involvement thus encouraging success (Stralser, 2013). Then finally there is the practice of building consensus. Building consensus would be beneficial to the employees since it would help them learn about the significance of coming up with compromises which are best for the firm (Economy, 2014).

The philosophy of management, which flies within the conventional thinking face usually compels the manager to employ deliberate practice to assist the employees to grow their strengths (Heathfield, 2017). Employees usually have a certain agenda which is completing their daily jobs on time as well as achieving the annual goals that they have. As a result, they tend to have the very little amount of time left thus not enough to drive development. Managers are spending little time with the employee regarding what may prove important. Developing the strengths that the employees have rather than their weaknesses, and also taking some time during this process to train the company culture and management philosophy (Heathfield, 2017). According to Gallup, managers receiving feedback which is strength-based tend to improve their efficiency by nearly 12.5% while at the same time improving the profitability of the company by 8.9%. Also, it also helps in improving employee engagement, goal achievement, and loyalty. More so, recognizing and encouraging the strengths of employees would help in empowering them more thus boosting the learning mentality and eventually exhibit higher discretionary effort levels (Hearn, 2017). Also, there is a need to check job satisfaction. If the team is not satisfied with the job, then it would mean that they would not fit well with the job and therefore it would build weakness for the team thus bringing failure. Some people tend to have an easy time with some jobs compared to others. Finding a job which is most suitable for the team would help ion building their abilities thus strengthen them thus help them discover their hidden abilities (Folkman, 2016). Managers can also come up with training programs which would help in building the strengths of the team.

Making decisions is very critical when it comes to solving problems which may arise within the organization thus an ongoing process within a company. Decision making for employees may vary depending on the strengths that they have. Some employees may have more than one different strengths while others are only one-sided and therefore can only handle specific tasks and may have difficulties multitasking. Through the team decision-making process, the company is bound to become successful thus grow and become stronger. Managers to ensure that they lead their organization towards the most favorable target, it is important they focus on a number of things which would guide the team to success.
