The specific genre from Western theatre is one of tragedy. According to research, tragedy as a theatrical practice and affect mode is characterized by its rich tradition as well as longevity. It has grown to emerge as an astonishing theatrical genre mostly due to its narration mode and transitional phenomenon together with the manner in which it facilitates in transforming text to performance to distinct medial boundaries (Hartman, 2016) . For this genre, it has led me to realize how modern culture and life appears to be filled with tragedy. However, it is not clear as to whether it is possible to separate the things that constitute tragedy in American theatre of the 20 th as well as 21 st centuries. Concerning the tragedy genre in American theatre, there appears to be a direct link between theory, practice, and human experience (Palmer, 2018) . In this manner, a dynamic relation prevails between art and life for the resourcefulness attributed to the theatrical and dramatic means through which tragedy features a certain tension, which the recipients experience (Philhist, 2017). It is also associated with the pleasure and enjoyment that results from encountering human agony, suffering, and disaster.

For the genre of tragedy in American theatre, I am still interested in the topic for various reasons. For instance, I would gain the capacity for reevaluating the concept as a theatrical form as well as a literary genre while at the same time exploring the types of the structural reactivations that prevail in tragedy. Since tragedy has managed to maintain its thematic and creative value, I regard the concept as ideal mostly based on the manner in which it distinguishes western theatrical experience from other countries (Hartman, 2016) . From the topic, the thing that I found unusual is one whereby tragedy has gained especially in the recent years despite it mostly focusing on human suffering, fear, as well as disaster. However, upon further research, I did not change my mind concerning the topic mostly the term “tragedy” reflects what to expect when people face different kinds of challenges.
