Ideally, psychological approaches of crime suggest that criminal behaviors are due to individual variations in thinking process. Thus, there are many psychological theories that try to explain such behaviors and believe that a person’s thinking and feelings direct their actions ( Cohen-Almagor, 2012 ). As such, the paper seeks do address different questions concerning the psychological approaches such as the limitations of utilizing psychological theories in the prosecution of criminals. Also, it addresses the question on whether the limitations can be addressed. 

What are the limitations of utilizing psychological theories in the prosecution of criminals?

Psychological theories does not explain that most people get in problems because they never had the same upbringing and grew the same way as other normal do (Mayer, Cava & Baird, 2014). For instance, some people may have underdeveloped brain to know differentiate what is right and wrong. They just decide to do what they would wish to do they have no thought of what is right and wrong. Hence, that shows what takes place when an individual has psychological development issues. 

Can these limitations be addressed or rectified? Explain 

The limitations above can be addressed since the opinion that getting into criminal activities decreases with age is among the ancient and most broadly accepted criminology. As young people grow and get into adult hood, most of people form bonds with traditional society strengthening having access to job opportunities, advanced education and a lot of interest in settling down they tend to leave crime ( Gao, Lu & Cui, 2017). Besides, early adulthood include transformation in life styles and friends which reduces the chances for getting involved criminal offenses. Moreover, at the same time there is increase sanction of law violations hence they tend to avoid that. 

Conclusion 

In conclusion, criminologists have for long time acknowledged that age a significant determinant of crime. For the most universal outcome nations, groups of individuals indicate that crime decreases with a young person’s activities. But some of these theories do not have comprehensive explanation since they are limited to few people due to the nature of results involved.
