Question 1

Individuals from different backgrounds enjoy different levels of health. The primary sources of regional health inequalities are income level and social status (WHO, 2018). Different people in the society have different income levels and social statuses that determine the type of health care needs they can access. The underdeveloped countries where most citizens live below the poverty line cannot afford a healthy individual's requirements. Addressing health issues has been a major concern for regional organizations and international organizations. Making health care access affordable through the regions will help solve the inequalities. It will involve government aids and change in policies that will promote access to better health care.

Response

Hello Valerie,

I agree that infant deaths and maternal deaths are major sources of health inequalities in underdeveloped countries. There is no adequate education, awareness, and resources in the healthcare sector. It can also be due to the poverty levels that hinder equality in healthcare access. The participation of the government will also help improve the quality and access to healthcare.

Question 2

Climate change has been a major concern in the recent past, and two approaches that will mitigate the risk are using sustainable energy and protection of coastal wetlands. The most effective approach is using sustainable energy since it will enormously reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses (Suarez, 2020).

Food security is the availability and access to sufficient, nutritious, and safe food to maintain a healthy and active life, while food sovereignty gives a community control over how their food is produced, consumed, and traded. Food security is more convincing since there will be enough nutritious and safe food for the community.

Question 3

The United Nations helps maintain peace, international development, and cooperation among its members. UN should encourage members to cooperate in solving global issues (Byers, 2017). The cooperation will help eradicate the problems and lead to peace for the UN to conduct their humanitarian activities. Globalization will lead to more peace because it has promoted trades between countries, which includes revolutionary technologies.

Based on globalization, climate change, and regional development concepts that I have learned in this course, I would like to impact the world by educating people about their impacts on the society we live in now and in the future.
