Superordinate Goal Theory

Superordinate goal means a high goal set by a group of individuals so that, a group of persons can achieve it. The superordinate goal theory has it that one way to have people solve conflict is to have them pursue one goal. This will ensure that they are united and put down their conflict first and achieve the goal. This theory has been of use in many different organizations. For instance, the organization often has different staff conflicting within a single department or different department. These people can conflict due to positional differences, experience or many other issues between. These people are often in constant conflict within the organization which reduces their productivity. To solve this conflict, it is important to play cards with their psychology. The organization organizes a task and set goals. The two are given responsibility to ensure that they achieve these goals where rewards for success are options. These people will have to put aside their difference first and embark on serious work to achieve their task. There is a possibility that after celebrating their success, these individuals may not have issues as intense as before the shared goal achievements.

Prejudice

There are two types of prejudice. There is the traditional prejudice and the modern prejudice. The traditional prejudice is what people typically think of the meaning racism. It the thought of hostility the minority group faced many years ago from the superior group. It involves the thought that we still hold of the biological superiority of the white individuals over the black individuals and the stereotype that the blacks are lazy and stupid. It involves the emotions that still lingers on the eyes of individuals who had a bad history of abuse and discrimination due to the stereotype of the looked down upon group in the society. In the real life experience, there are many ways in which the old prejudice manifest. For instance, in many occasions, the gay men have been accused, and there is a prevailing unjustified stereotype that they are the source of HIV/AIDS. This is has been a prevalent idea for some time and is a good example of the old prejudice. An alternative real life manifestation of this traditional prejudice is that fact that the immigrants are stealing the jobs in the country. It is not once or twice that we have heard of such kind of stereotype. The old fashioned white individuals in the USA may have a feeling that the immigrants from different countries in the world are stealing their jobs.
