I am a white American woman who is a faithful Christian and who believes in Jesus Christ as my personal savior. My desire to be seen as a strong believer in the gospel of Christ is encouraged by the fact that in my culture we are ardent believers in equality be it racial, social, religious and also cultural. My culture is accommodative of all people irrespective of who they are or where they are from or what to do. Conforming to the ways of my culture and the teachings of Christ has encouraged the positive reflection of people on me. I am loved and respected in the society because I not only conform to my culture but also follow the teachings of Christ on love and equality in the society.
Despite the fact that our culture is accommodative of all persons, there is an instance where I refused to listen to a Muslim sheikh who tried to explain to me about his religion. As a Christian I should have listened to him just as Jesus engaged in a conversation with the Samaritan woman. Additionally, I should have told him about Christianity and the teachings of Christ.

Our Christian faith has many teachings about the importance of community and the importance of seeing and knowing people. Just like Jesus preached to the Samaritan woman, Christians are encouraged to pass the gospel of Christ to each member in the community. Additionally, Christian faith teaches about loving our neighbors and not judging them regardless of their culture. Jesus loved the Samaritan woman and because he was not judgmental, he gave her the gospel that assured her of eternal life.
In treating addiction, the community needs to be loving and accepting of individuals who are addicted to any form of drug or stuff. It is through love and acceptance that such persons can be able to change. The Christian faith clearly dictates the need for loving and accepting our neighbors. Love is the best form of therapy against addiction.
