The type of research that will be conducted for this study on social determinants of health among the minorities, as well as, the increasing rates of HIV/AIDS among the population is a qualitative study. Qualitative research is considered for this topic since it helps in the provision of knowledge and to the various social determinants that lead most minority groups especially the African Americans into being more prone to HIV/AIDS acquisition. Moreover, the researcher lives in a community comprising of most African Americans hence the qualitative approach would be the most appropriate type of research. In addition to that, a correlation study would be conducted to compare various populations and their exposure to the virus. The association study would be a preliminary to the development of a case series that will describe the study comprehensively. Contrary to that, a cross-sectional study would be conducted in the research that will give exposure to the study. The experimental study to be conducted in this research would be to use mobile phones and other devices to record the information acquired from either interviews or other causes of the study and analyzing it using various approaches.

In this research, the open-ended questionnaire would be the most appropriate to gather as much information as required. The open inquiry needs more than just one answer while carrying out the study (Jacobsen, 2012). Thus, this shows that the information gathered in the open-ended questionnaire is more comprehensive as compared to the close-ended questionnaires. In the distribution of questionnaires, I will use computerized devices such as mobile phones to distribute them, however, in the remote areas; I will distribute the questionnaires sung face-to-face means to ensure that my study covers all aspects in the region. In the case of interviews, I will prefer face-to-face interactions that will be of significant in identifying the expression of the interviewee. Besides that, a face-to-face meeting will help in making the environment conducive to carry out a comprehensive study. The study will prefer both the one-on-one interviewing and the group interviews. The individual meetings will help in comparing the information gathered while the panel discussions would be assisted in gathering the general information. Lastly, the main group of participants in the study is the African Americans people.
