Majority of the people who have suicidal thoughts are also depressed. The two primary reasons that make people feel depressed include loss of control after facing a life situation resulting in negative emotions and loss of positive sense of future. Depression distorts the reality and reinforces negative part of our lives and positivity around seems irrelevant or non-existent. After going through depression, people think that the pain will never end and tomorrow will be the worse, and the next solution that comes to their mind is death (Grunebaum et al., 2017) . Depression and suicidal thoughts trigger and intensify suicidal urge. In Ellen case study, depression and suicidal thinking rule out since she was a child to her adulthood.

Ellen started experiencing lousy treatment from her family as early as eight years. She came from schools and did household chores at a tender age and to escape her mother religious fanaticism and father’s drinking she turned to a life of books. Half of the children develop depression as a result of conflict with their parents or alcoholic parents (Grunebaum et al., 2017) . Ellen recalls experiencing depression in schools since no one bothered about her education even her mother. Additionally, marrying man-18 years older than him turned out to be to be like her father and walked out of marriage and left her 10-year-old kid daughter. Although Ellen felt satisfaction from high-level education, she suffered recurrent depression due to her loneliness.

Ellen mother death hit her hard, and she began a fantasy about killing herself after undergoing a severe depression for one month. She felt that nobody cared about her life, she always felt unhappy, had nothing to live for, and even didn’t think her daughter would also care if she contacted her. Suicidal thoughts build up following her mother's death and her boyfriend, Harry, a fellow teacher who started to date his student. Ellen felt guilty for not caring about her mother when she was ill. Similarly, the majority of people undergoing massive depression have a feeling the world is void and nothing to live for (Calati et al., 2015).

After going depression, suicide remains the only option for Ellen. Ellen had a 22 revolver and practiced regularly to make a perfect shot since the small gun required an ideal shot. Consequently, Ellen thought of buying a big gun, a .38 caliber revolver and practiced shooting in a nearby gun shop until she felt comfortable to turn the gun on herself. The thought of buying a new gun and listening to Rolling Stones CD lifted her spirits. A majority of people turn down therapy; Ellen thinks that therapy will mask the underlying issue (Calati et al., 2015). People suffering from depression should be guided by the importance of therapy early enough to avoid suicidal cases.
