Jake and the Neverland pirates are my children television program of choice. The running time for each episode is approximately 24 minutes. The program is aired every day on its original network i.e. Disney Junior as from 2.00pm to 2.30 pm. The program is suitable for children between the ages of three to four years old. The program is based on an island scene, in which there are treasure hunting events and also have to put up with an annoying and evil captain pirate Hook. The program is filled with a lot of fantasy such as the existence of pixie dust to make the young pirates fly and also the existence of magic. However, lots of music is sung by the cast that very much involve the audience and also the characters such as Jake involve the audience by asking questions. It is an entertaining and also educational program especially in mathematical areas, for example, counting from one to ten etc.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Different approaches have been implemented in the film especially music, visual and verbal approaches are the key aspects used in the program to appeal to the children. Constant singing of counting of the treasures that they have gained clearly supports skinner's behavioral approach just as his research with the mice. The counting of the coins and the theme song clearly instills the skinner's theories plays a major role as the majority of the kids master the theme song and sing along as it plays on the television and also at the end of the show when Jake and the rest of his crew count the treasure obtained. Giving an opportunity for the children to grasp and remember the song. Another theory clearly showcased from the verbal and storyline of the program is the Piaget’s Theory of cognitive development. The film is based on magic and fantasy. Hence, most of the children viewers develop their minds with an understanding of the existence of magic and people with the ability to fly. Children imitate the characters as they fly and sing along with them.
The program is quite an educational program for them not only academically but also morally. The strategies used in the program are much successful especially as they implement the skinner’s theory which depicts behavioral nature. At the end of each and every episode of the program, the characters count all the coins that have been found that. They involve the audience and this helps the young children to be able to count number sequences, for example, one to ten. Moral measures such as shunning away from the evil doers like Captain Hook and helping others solve their problems is very much taught in the singing, dancing and even counting of coins together in the program. It also contains several social contents such as gender equality, justice, and unity. Gender equality is highly promoted because some of the pirates are female I n gender hence promoting equality in performance for both gender. Justice is also a major social content as Jake and his crew fight against evil Captain Hook and helps others in need. Despite bad feud between Captain Hook and Jake, they usually work together and also unity is seen in the cohesiveness of Jake’s crew.
The program is always broadcasted on the Disney Junior channel which is a commercial station. There are numerous advertisements in the station which majorly focus on the feeding of young children. Lots of advertisements are based on healthy snacks and food for children and also public events in which children shall have fun together and learn new things as a team. Most advertisers choose Disney Junior as the most suitable for their advertisements because lots of the programs are for young children so consequently the larger audience is the children. Through advertisements, they shall reach a lot of children and due to the compelling power of their parents. The parents shall purchase for them any snack or food that they require.
Television has greatly had an impact on my development especially in my earlier days in pre-school and elementary school. Personally, I began watching wrestling at a very young age around one year and over the years became a huge fan of the sport. To the extent of buying every new superstar t-shirt and even attending all pay-per-views events just to see my favorite wrestlers. Clearly just as Piaget’s Theory of cognitive development, my mind was set up that wrestling was the best thing for me to do and as an infant, I would cry every time the television was switched off as I watched wrestling. Skinner’s theory had a tow on me and wrestling was deeply engraved in me.
I would find myself trying to imitate the wrestlers in the ring back at home and try to talk, walk or even dress as they did on the television. The media had a very much significant impact on me on my childhood development. Cartoons were also one of the greatest programs of mine in which I learned lots of moral lessons such as shunning away from evil deeds and always be just.
