Confrontational forces of matters of moral integrity, bravery in the oppressed community, or unlawful violence for personal or political gains is what differentiates freedom fighting and terrorism. Nevertheless, it may be hard to exactly know where the line lies between a terrorist and a freedom fighter. There is more to metaphysical difference compared to perception involved. The drive of a terrorist is focused on outrageous and unacceptable destruction and oppression and also threatens the existence of humanity (Wikan, 2018). On September 11, 2001, an attack was made on the most prominent buildings in America. The horrifying act led to the loss of hundreds of lives. On February 26, 1993, there was an attack on the World Trade Centre garage. Despite the destruction of the buildings, it inflicted wounds on the hearts of the Americans.

Freedom fighters are from an oppressed or marginalized community; they fight for what is right and stand for their principles. To some extent, we can associates them with martyrs to the course of freedom. When it comes to moral standards, freedom fighters uphold societal morals. However, freedom fighters struggle comes with the desire to earn or take back what rightfully belongs to them (Wikan, 2018). During the Apartheid rule in South Africa, Nelson Mandela was the lead to the victory of the South Africans. Sir William Wallace was involved in the fight against the British men at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in September 1297.

The aim of terrorism is not acquiring a right but causing destruction. The description gives a clear qualitative difference between a group of freedom fighters who are armed. Nonetheless, they will never stop until their hatred is satisfied. This explanation helps to distinguish how a group turns from ben a "freedom fighter" to a terrorist.
