Early childhood education as a way of either formally or informally teaching young children of the age of up to eight is discrete from the school-age teaching for the reason that as plentiful of the philosophy behind it advocates. Different approaches to education have proven surprisingly effective with children below the age period of 8 years old. Ideally, early childhood education is very good for the mental development of children which takes place at the age between 0 years to the age of five years ( Elango, García, Heckman & Hojman, 2015) . However, several articles have also shown that strong early childhood education can end up impacting one’s adult life in most expectedly positive ways. Even though there are also some negatively recorded impacts of early childhood education. This essay, therefore, focuses on some of the demerits of early childhood education.

The demerits of early childhood education are hardly experienced on the children but with the early childhood teachers for instance; Region professionalization; to some extent, early childhood teachers are still regarded to be babysitters ( Ferraro, Schafer & Wilkinson, 2016). However, the early childhood subdivision is making remarkable progress with enlightening the integrity of the people out in the field, however, the way up the hill still is a long one and the general public may not just have the strength to appreciate the value of one’s education to handle underage children through early childhood education.

Another significant drawback of early childhood education most notably to the early childhood instructors is that the duty of being an educator is very demanding for this particular sector. The sector is demanding in the sense of being patient enough, and being able to show the adequacy of skills as well as responsibilities in the day-to-day duties as an educator ( Muschkin, Ladd & Dodge, 2015) . Some of the roles that educators stand responsible for are more of parenting responsibilities for instance; provision of care, excellent communication, leadership, advocacy and administrative to the most precious commodities in the life of their owners (parents). Thus, early childhood tutors being the utmost underpaid personnel despite their roles and responsibilities, they should nonetheless get something much better than just a minimum wage of which some do not also get to be paid up to that. It is as a result of the low salaries paid to early childhood educators that a good number of them end up shifting to better-paying jobs.

However, the drawback of early childhood education to individual children has been pointed. Early childhood education has its advantages in a case whereby, there are individuals, who ensure proper treatment for children by bringing up healthy, confident, and happy children; however, there are people who cannot make it up to this ( Roberts, 2015) . On the other side of this same story is a case in which children spend almost at least nine hours of the day going through early childhood education hence helping children to start learning how to deal with bullying at a very tender age, therefore, promoting cultural awareness and in some way assisting children to not to become bullies. However, the disadvantage is that the children do spend limited time with their own families at home which after a long-term distorts customary family relationships.

To sum up, it is clear that early childhood education may have its drawbacks including the fact that one’s efforts and contributions towards shaping a particular child into a morally upright adult are underappreciated. However, if one has the passion for caring for children and enjoys the courtesy of playing a part in their development, then the job satisfaction and non-monetary recompenses are colossal.
