Early development stage, which occurs in early childhood, is very critical for the future wellbeing of an individual. During this stage, a child experiences significant physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. The child achieves specific growth milestones physically, cognitively, and psychosocially. Positive and negative experiences at this stage can shape how a child attains the milestones, and can thus have positive or negative influences, respectively on the child and its future. I cannot recall the positive and negative experience I had during the early development stage in my life. However, I can infer from my current life and determine how my childhood was. I also got to know about the various incidents that happened to me as a child from my parents and relatives.
One notable positive impact I had at this stage was having caring parents and a caring caregiver. This positive impact is visible through my attachment style. I form secure attachments. As a child, I had adequate attention and care from my parents, who always attended to my needs. Since my parent were employed in different companies and had to attend to their work duties, they got me a supporting and caring caregiver. She was like a third parent to me, and I bonded with her well. I formed a secure attachment with her. According to my parents, I would be visibly upset whenever the caretaker left, but would better when my parents returned and consoled me. When frightened, I would seek the comfort of the caregiver or my parents. Now in my adulthood, my positive attachment is evident through my ability to form lasting and trusting relationships, my good self-esteem, my ability to seek help and social support and my willingness to share my emotions, and feelings with my friends and partner.
