Alongside food and shelter, health is a significant element in every person’s life. The political culture of any country and economy adversely affects health and overall healthcare systems. The government entails of policymakers through this policy it is easy to identify who has easy access to health, the quality of care issued to the patient and the available resources to support healthcare systems (Stork, 2018). Politics can help build or destroy the health care systems of a country, where there is government support, and economic growth healthcare systems can flourish as well as the health of people. This, however, is not the case where there is no government support and economic growth. 

People’s ability to access care is shaped by the nature of the economy, where people can get jobs and earn a living, their ability to pay for healthcare and access health care insurance is more possible (HCFO, 2009) . Political systems play a significant role in the provision of healthcare facilities as well as ensuring that people have the ease to access them. Where the government is unable to provide such facilities to its people, then healthcare deteriorates.

Government intervention in healthcare systems includes financing of the sector and provision of resources. The poor are not always able to access private health facilities’ through the help of the government in the provision of services such as doctors and health equipment, health insurance is made more affordable, and health care cost is reduced enabling the healthcare of many people to improve (Altman & Morgan, 1983) . Government’s intervention also leads to an increase in health facilities, therefore, enabling more people to access healthcare easily.
