Self-esteem is a great contributor to the confidence and the ability to relate with each other in the society. There have been several instances which have proven to me as the best instances of ego boosting in the recent past. I vividly recall in the last annual end of year celebrations at my workplace; I was lost in the confusion and fear of presentation that would include the discussions on sales and progress that the organization has made. Having been my first encounter at such events, I needed to know from example how to go about it. My supervisor took it upon himself to introduce me to the congregation and to allude to the contents of my presentation. With the proper introduction and the mentioning of my intended presentation, it became easier for me to do the rest. The second instance where I had my ego highly boosted was at a time when I was still in my secondary education. Being an active member of the school choir and lead vocalist, the several competition s that I attended were tensed and quite intimidating. On this particular occasion, the hosting organizer at the regional contest became my ego booster. His introduction of our performance and the mention of the various accolades that we have bagged in the past made it easy and quite promising for us to strive even to do better and more. Being the lead vocalist, I was able to get hold of myself, and especially with the lukewarm introduction of our erstwhile competitors; we stole the show with a standing ovation that followed afterward. This was a great ego booster for me and my future career.

No one else has been a bigger ego-buster in my life more than my mathematics teacher. The negativity with which he spoke about my performance only made it worse for my performance. I lost confidence and ego which led to the worsening of my mathematics college. On a separate occasion, unexpectedly, by the landlord once deflated my ego massively. On one particular month when I delayed the payments for my monthly rent, he called me out in front of the whole estate, thus humiliating me and making me lose all the ego that I had gathered all the while. Negative feedbacks have a way of making me lose my ego.

Over the past year, I got myself involved in some cases serving under mentorship programs. In one particular case where we went for mentorship talks in the childcare for the homeless children, I was able to share much with the needy children. Particularly, I was able to motivate the 15-year-old girl through the sharing of my personal story, having lost my parents at a tender age. I grew my education and career through the support of well-wishers and personal dedications. My story served as an ego booster to her, making her realize that her case is not exclusively unique in any way.
