My roommate witnessed my struggles to keep up with classwork and employment demands. At this time, she was joining the Air Force and insisted I make time to meet her recruiter. With nothing holding me back, this chance became the turning point in my life, and never have I regretted the decision I made of joining the Air force for the 12 years I have been in military service. This has been through being responsible, confident and most importantly a more knowledgeable woman. Additionally, working in the military has enabled me to realize more of my self-such as strengths, a reality that is not certain I would have managed otherwise. However, despite the varying gains coming with the working in the military service, the privilege won’t last forever, and in turn, every decision I make is focused on establishing a platform for my life more so after the military occupation. With the varying resources and benefits at my disposal in the military, I am well focused on making good use of them. Despite being a challenge to juggle between active service, starting a family and utilizing the numerous educational benefits provided in the Air Force, there are more opportunities than ever before.
