Emotional intelligence refers to the ability of individuals in reasoning concerning emotions in line with emotional information to improve the thought process. Individuals having high emotional intelligence are capable of solving problems related to emotions quickly and accurately. The vital aspects attributed to emotional intelligence revolves around the capacity to control, perceive, and assess emotions of self and others while at the same time utilizing the information appropriately. Realizing emotional intelligence in self allows people to control and manage their emotions while understanding other people’s emotions can result to empathy as well as success in professional and personal relationships (Schutte, Malouff, & Thorsteinsson, 2013) . Owing to the vital role attributed to emotional intelligence, it is essential to assess the important role it plays in diverse areas of life including communication, work life, home life, and personal life, in line with the opportunities that exist for boosting emotional intelligence. 

Emotional Intelligence in Various Life Aspects 

Emotional intelligence in communication assists individuals to comprehend feelings, which assist individuals to excel when relating with other individuals. People who are aware of their emotions are able to communicate better. They are able to notice other people’s emotions and the manner in which their feelings affect how they communicate. Furthermore, emotional intelligence allows people to understand other individuals. Understanding the manner in which a different person is communicating is more essential as opposed to what is being communicated (Karimi, Leggat, Donohue, Farrell, & Couper, 2014) .

Emotional intelligence also affects work life of individuals. Workplaces serve as key relational environments, while they feature distinct skills, personalities, emotions, and strengths. Thus, emotional intelligence affects every decision and activity carried out inside an organization. It prevails when instructing teams as well as when instituting overall change in an organization. Hence, those having higher emotional intelligence are able to navigate their places of work in a more effective manner. It permits individuals to establish success teams and responsive as required to allow them emerge successful (Castillo, Salguero, Fernández-Berrocal, & Balluerka, 2013) .

Additionally, emotional intelligence also affects home life. For instance, it allows parents to adopt styles of parenting that identify the needs of their children and take the feelings of the kids seriously. They are able to understand the issues their children are facing and come up with ways of dealing with the feelings. Here, emotional intelligence that allows parents to emerge successful in this area. The parents are able to attune to the feelings of their children from birth through attachment parenting, which then plays a critical role in improving the level of intelligence among children (Castillo, Salguero, Fernández-Berrocal, & Balluerka, 2013) .

Furthermore, the use of emotional intelligence in personal life becomes apparent where it contributes to improved mental and physical health wellbeing. People having higher emotional intelligence levels perceive life positively as opposed to those whose emotional intelligence is low, thereby allowing them to communicate their feelings more positively. On physical health, since stress influences the capability of individuals to exercise, sleep, and make healthy dietary decisions, individuals with low emotional intelligence are incapable of coping with diverse life pressures, which affect their health negatively (Castillo, Salguero, Fernández-Berrocal, & Balluerka, 2013) .

Opportunities for Improving Emotional Intelligence 

Improving emotional intelligence is essential in terms of allowing individuals to cope with diverse issues they experience in life. Reducing emotional intelligence would require that individuals exercise ways of minimizing negative emotions to ensure that they do not overwhelm them of affect their judgment. Additionally, people can exercise ways of remaining cool and manage their stress. When experiencing pressure, the most essential thing individuals should do is to ensure they remain cool (Karimi, Leggat, Donohue, Farrell, & Couper, 2014) . Furthermore, people should practice to be assertive as well as express challenging emotions when a need arises. They should ensure to be who they are by talking in an open manner concerning the things they regard as more important to them to allow them manage their emotions. Establishing close relationships with trustworthy people would assist individuals express loving emotions as well as respond positively when other individuals experiencing challenging situations (Castillo, Salguero, Fernández-Berrocal, & Balluerka, 2013) .

In conclusion, emotional intelligence is vital in daily life, particularly because of the manner in which it provides individuals with the ability to solve problem associated with emotions rapidly and accurately. It plays a critical role in diverse areas of life such as communication, work life, home life, and personal life. These serve as among the key areas that individuals experience on a daily basis. To emerge effective in exercising emotional intelligence, people should always be on the lookout for opportunities to allow them improve their levels of emotional intelligence. Doing so would allow them to navigate diverse issues they encounter in life easily and effectively.
