My interest in this story or article is the supposed alteration of the police statement from the initial report. A young kid, 15 years, in the suburban area of Balch Spring, Dallas, was shot by the police adding to the number of African-Americans shot and killed by the police. These Police-Black confrontations do not seem to cease.
The police department seems to have core values and policies according to the Police Chief. There have been such incidences where the police declared that there would be an investigation but the outcomes of the findings do not get public. However, the chief sad the civil right team will conduct and “impartial and independent investigation.” The article notes that the death of the boy could have been avoided but for the use of excessive force. Such stories have been in the news often in the U.S.
The message in the article is that a young boy has been shot death under unexplained circumstances. Such inexplicable acts often go unpunished. Thus, an investigation will be instituted to find out the fact surrounding the death of the young kid. Messages from the school, teachers, and coaches demonstrate that he is a good boy. The killings by the police of African-Americans need to be tackled from a holistic point rather than a racial perspective.
