The Clean Air Act needs to accommodate some changes following the growing number of lawsuits seeing action due to increased emissions of carbon dioxide. The manner in which the courts have handled the cases has created confusion and every aspect of the environment, government; policy, industry, and law have been affected. I have an idea that can be implemented to put the mess and confusion to a halt. The environmental law providing a federal tax credit for people to get the ability to buy electric cars is insufficient (Bailey, 2015). This law can be improved by introducing some incentives that will make it attractive for more Americans to acquire electric cars. Following the far-reaching impacts brought about by climate change, it would be appropriate to amend the law in a bid to achieve climate resilience across the United States. In a bid to get more people to drive electric cars, the federal tax should be made available to the individuals at the point of acquiring the vehicle from the dealer. The idea of offering credit through tax returns is inappropriate and discouraging (Averchenkova, Fankhauser & Nachmany, 2017). At the same time, the government should ensure the law is changed to provide that part of the tax money is channeled toward putting up charging booths for electric cars. The car owners will not be inconvenienced since they will have places to charge their cars. In the event my idea to change the law is given a chance, it will encourage more people to acquire electric cars, people will enjoy driving cars, and the air will be cleaner.
