Technology
The healthcare sector in America is experiencing lots of positive changes as a result of technological advancements. The country is experiencing developments in medical devices and applications for providing quality healthcare and ensuring efficiency for deliveries. These advancements allow patients to receive better healthcare (Oberlander, 2019). Currently, the existing single-payer health insurance is government-private sector healthcare, and this collaboration allows for private-sector prowess in participating in the advancements. So the main question is whether Medicare for All will enable the patients to continue enjoying quality services from the private sector. The point is that Medicare for All will give all the citizens more alternatives and choices compared to private insurance. Medicare for All will allow the patients to see any doctor they wish to. It’s true that with private insurance, there are lots of restrictions on whom to see, when, and where. Therefore, Medicare for All will allow patients to continue enjoying technological advancements from different providers across the country.

Today, significant American problems can be categorized into two; the high cost related to healthcare and changing the uninsured persons to insured, numbering over 30 million. These problems were major determinants of the 2018 midterm elections in the US. It’s out of these concerns that the Democrats have come up with a number of proposals to expand the national health insurance cover and coverage (Shanoor, 2019) Medicare for All is one of the myriads of bills fronted by the Democrats to make healthcare in America better. However, the Democrats have experienced lots of legal challenges in making the bill a reality.
Changes to legislation in the health care sector happen every now and then, and the most impact is on how healthcare is run. There have been lots of proposals in regard to implementing Medicare For All, but it has received lots of obstacles, including an increase in taxes and the price tag, but these are nowhere close to the procedural rules by the Senate. The Democrats are now left with only one option: to pass the Medicare For All with a change in the Senate rules, and that is budget reconciliation. Budget reconciliation is a legislative medium circumventing the filibuster by allowing a bill to continue with only 51 votes. The Democrats applied most of Obamacare through budget reconciliation; they used it in 2017 to repeal and pass the massive tax cut legislation.).

The single-payer frameworks have been part of the American health reform debate for over eight decades. The current appeal by the Democrats is a reflection of the enduring and deep challenges in American health care (Oberlander, 2019). American has failed to establish a universal healthcare coverage system to provide all citizens with health security as other first world countries have done in their territories. Single-payer offers answers to the United States’ persistent and continual challenges with health care access, expensive healthcare, insurance complexity, fragmentation, and even affordability to all the covered persons. As long as these problems continue, then they will support a single-payer.
While Medicare for All has been proposed as a sure way to solve a significant percentage of challenges experienced in the American healthcare system, the bill continues experiencing challenges both legal and environmental, and it has failed to come even close to passing the Congress.
