My opinion on Caroline’s case
In this scenario, I do not think there is any form of discrimination rather it is Caroline’s lack of negotiation skills. This follows as Caroline just gave Mr. Kuehn what he had asked for while Jack came to the meeting well prepared and he also proved he could do the project. Moreover, he suggested ways in which the company would not spend a lot on the project. On the other hand, Caroline came up with ways in which the company would save money. Furthermore, Jack was not afraid to let Mr. Kuehn see his weaknesses while Caroline did not. This follows as Jack readily let Mr. Kuehn know that he was not familiar with the electronic publishing business and would learn, while Caroline refused Mr. Kuehn's help in case of any problems. Also, Jack readily went to the meeting with a layout on why giving him a raise would be appropriate, but Caroline did not talk about a raise.
What I would do in if I were Caroline
Know your brand- before attending the meeting, Caroline should have properly assessed herself and known what she wanted, her purpose, value, and mission. Additionally, Caroline should have assessed herself to know her weaknesses and strengths and the challenges she would go through.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Know your audience- Caroline should have done a research and asserted confidence. She should have promised Mr. Kuehn that she would do the job.
Research effectively- Caroline should have prepared by going through the other departments and knowing what is needed thereby going to the meeting knowing exactly what the job entailed.
How magazine advertisements depict women and how to change it
In most advertisements, women are looked upon, and it is even worse as the average ones are referred to as ugly hence they insignificant. Moreover, they claim women who are not attractive need to do so many things to be beautiful. Women are used as sales tools; additionally; beautiful women are used to luring clients on the magazine covers half naked. The magazines depict the perfect woman as that who is tall, thin and well-groomed and attractive.
These magazines encourage stereotyping of women. This follows as young women and girls are dieting to ensure they fit in the sizes depicted in the magazines. This makes women who are not in the depicted size to look down upon themselves. The only way that the depiction of women can happen is when women are raised from a young age knowing they are beautiful the way they are and do not need to listen to anyone else. Another way is through encouraging women education and empowering them, and this way women will have an equal opportunity just like the men.
