Question 1

One of Erickson’s stages of development is identity vs. confusion, which occurs especially during the teenage years. I remember when I was a teenager, I was just discovering myself, and most of the times, I attempted to try and fit in particular groups at school and in the neighborhood. I was also prone to peer pressure because I tried to copy what my friends did or looked like. I did not know whether to behave like an adult or a child. Most of the time I would be confused because of the conflicting values my family held and those which my friends embraced.

Question 2

I would definitely want a full genome analysis available to all parents for their children. The reason is that parents will be prepared best regarding what to expect of their children. If the children, for instance, will have deformities, it will not come as a shock to the parents because they would have prior information. If I discover that my baby would be predisposed to have diabetes later in the future, it would be best to take corrective action immediately or not carry on with the pregnancy. It would be sad to have a child whom I know will have to suffer from a chronic illness.

Question 3

The first step would be to have as large a sample as possible. A large sample allows mixed opinions from many people as opposed to a small sample size. Secondly, the research will need to use a quantitative approach because it enhances feedback from real people about the phenomenon being studied. In a qualitative approach, a researcher may be accused of being selective of the literature used. The same accusations cannot be said of a quantitative approach that uses a large mixed sample size.
