According to BAC Board (2014), behavior analyst should maintain a set of ethical compliance codes because they help them maintain high standards of behavior in their profession. Apart from maintaining high standards of behavior, ethical compliance ensures that behavior analysts rely on scientific knowledge when in practice. This assists them in making professional or scientific judgments when providing services to people. Ethical compliance codes give behavior analysts boundaries of competence in their profession. In this case, they are only allowed to provide services, teach or conduct research after accomplishing appropriate study, training, supervision, and consultation from competent people in these areas.

The ethical compliance codes also help behavior analysts to maintain competence through professional development. To maintain this knowledge, behavior analysts have to read appropriate literature, participate in workshops, attend conferences and conventions, obtain and maintain appropriate professional credentials and further obtain additional coursework. Likewise, ethical compliance codes ensure that behavior analysts observe a high level of integrity in whatever they do. Integrity ensures that these behavior analysts remain honest and truthful, do not implement contingencies that can cause others to engage in unethical conduct and further follow their obligations or professional commitments with high-quality work.

Detailed Study Plan

I plan to study the course of behavior analyst for 6 months. Throughout these 6 years, my study and research will be focused on the importance and responsibilities of behaviour analysts. The time management of the certificate program in Behavior analyst is listed as follows:

First two months

I will put most of my efforts in studying core units and attending lectures. I will also attend seminars and select my course professor as my graduate research director.

Second 2 months

I will join a research group and perform some preliminary studies. I will then complete my graduate research proposal under the guidance of my research advisor. This proposal will relate with my preliminary studies. Based on my research proposal, I will conduct out my research plan, analyze the results and further enhance my schemes.

Last two months

I will complete most of my research and then concentrate on presenting it to the examination panel. After the course, I will put the ethical compliance code into practice by maintaining high standards of behavior in my profession.
