The desire to form a single European political and economic block lead to the formation of the European Union. The union currently accommodates 28 countries as members nineteen of whom have adopted the euro as their official currency. The article describes the referendum held in 2016 in detail examining the circumstances, results and the consequences of the action to date. The information is essential to educate the society on the European Union by creating an understanding of their activities, their impacts and what it would mean for the United Kingdom to exit and the effect to others member countries (Mueller, 2019). The article has in-depth information on the actions of the Britain Prime Minister Theresa May and her attempts to meet the upcoming deadlines on March 29, 2019, despite opposition and lack of support from parliament. “ Watching Brexit fall apart” by Kauffmann is an article that analyzes the hardships encountered by Britain after the referendum deciding to leave the European Union. An analysis of the arguments made before the exit of how moving out of the bloc would provide free and take back control in the UK has been established providing a review of three years (Kauffmann, 2019). Through the article, the ideas of leaders being less supportive and convicted on the need for the exit and the likelihood of a second vote to overturn the initial referendum were established. The article offers insights on the results of the poll in 2016 by asserting the confusion arising from the event as prompted by the demand for specific policy outcomes but the failure of an elaborate system to achieve the desired effect (Fisher & Taub, 2019).. The European Union continues to make headlines with the main concern for Brexit. At the verge of making a critical decision, Britain dilemma and the resultant consequences draw interest and need to understand the European Union functions and benefits politically and economically. Thus until the decision is made and finalized, the world will persist in its analysis evaluations and conclusions on the European Union and the United Kingdom.
