The main reason for sharing developed ideas is that of ensuring that they are actualized or in other words, materialize into tangible works. Therefore, it is important to effectively communicate and express ideas to ensure the ideas are indeed actualized or they serve the intended purpose for why they are developed in the first place. Various factors and aspects facilitate the effective communication and expression of ideas hence the need to employ them in the same. For instance, an element of communication such as engaging effective stress management enables effective communication and expression of ideas. Effective communication and expression of an idea require the incorporation of elements and factors that facilitate the same such as stress management and the appropriate use of body language. The aim of this paper, therefore, is to describe how and what can be employed in an effort to make effective the expression and communication.

In the event of expression and communicating an idea, it is important to establish one’s audience, since expression and communication of an idea is more, target audience-oriented. When developing an idea, an author usually has a particular audience whom he or she presents the idea around. Once an individual has established the audience he or she wishes to express and communicate an idea to, then it is easier to effectively deliver that idea (Plotnik, 2012). This is because the author of the idea to be expressed or communicated can study the audience to establish what they need in order to understand, accept and memorize the idea. A proper understanding of the audience enables the author of an idea to communicate and express the idea in a manner that is tailored to suit the audience’s needs, with intended outcomes being achieved. Tailoring an idea to suit an audiences communication needs facilitates their acceptance of the idea, which completes the communication and expression process of an idea (Plotnik, 2012). Upon establishing the target audience and tailoring the expression and communication of an idea to meet the audience preferences, it is important to incorporate elements that facilitate the communication and expression of that idea.

Effective communication and expression of ideas require the employment of all the necessary elements and aspects that facilitate an audience’s understanding of the idea. Among the elements of effective communication and expression of ideas is the use of clear and comprehensive language. Language is a key element that facilitates the effective communication and expression of ideas. The language used to communicate and express an idea should be one that an audience understands and is familiar with in order for the activity to be effective. Clarity within the element of language use should also be considered as it facilitates the audience's comprehension in the event an individual expresses and communicates their idea (Plotnik, 2012). The use of clear and comprehensive language also increases the credibility of the author of the idea. This makes it easier for the author to effectively communicate and express their idea to the audience since they understand the author owing to the credibility attached to clear and comprehensive language (Chase & Shamo, 2014). However, in addition to using clear and familiar language, it is important to incorporate elements that reinforce an audience’s understanding of the idea being expressed and communicated.

An element that can be used to effectively reinforce an audience’s understanding of an idea being expressed and/or communicated is the use of appropriate body language. According to research, people are likely to remember more, an idea that has been communicated and/or expressed alongside appropriate body language. This is because the human mind has a greater ability to record and store, for better memory, visual expression and communication of ideas, as compared to verbally expressed and communicated ideas (Chase & Shamo, 2014). Therefore, using the appropriate body language ensures the audience remember the expressed and communicated idea. This is because a combination of both the verbal message of the idea and body language is effective for communication and expression of ideas. Memory oriented communication and expression of ideas results in the acceptance and internalization of the idea, which facilitates effective expression and communication of the idea. Nonetheless, appropriate body language alongside the idea cannot effectively facilitate communication and expression of an idea is not enough, thus the need for complementary and supplementary elements of communication and expression of an idea.

Supplementary and complementary elements of communication and expression of an idea facilitate delivery of the idea to an audience. Art is among the supplementary and complementary elements of idea communication and expression. The incorporation of art during the communication and expression of an idea stimulates the visual senses of an audience, which increases their interests and ability to remember the idea in the future (Plotnik, 2012). Art is usually designed in a manner that communicates a deeper meaning of an idea through its colours, symbolism as well as visual representation of the idea. Therefore, incorporating the appropriate form of art into the communication and expression of an idea facilitates the author's ability to effectively deliver it to his or her audience. For instance, communicating and expressing an idea where music is used as a complementary form of art creates an instance where the idea is likely to be easily understood and memorized by the audience, thus effective expression and communication of the idea (Plotnik, 2012). In addition to supplementary and complementary elements of communication and expression of ideas, an author of an audience can facilitate the same using other techniques.

Among the techniques used for communication and expression of an idea is that of maintaining eye contact. This technique communicates confidence to the audience, which increases their trust, thus the establishment of credibility. Credibility is an important aspect in the event of communication and expression of an idea since it creates a rapport between the audience and the author of the idea. Communication and expression of ideas are dependent on trust and credibility, which are developed from eye contact as it communicates confidence and trustworthiness. Another technique that can be used in the communication and expression of an idea is the use of facts to explain and elaborate an idea as it equally creates credibility in the process (Plotnik, 2012). When communicating and expressing an idea the use of facts is effective for delivery as facts are known to most people, thus an audience is able to trust and accept the communicated and expressed idea. In addition to that, listening is a technique that can be employed after the communication and expression of an idea to establish whether the idea has been received. Similarly, listening can be a great technique for the reception of feedback on the idea communicated and expressed (Plotnik, 2012). Feedback is an important aspect of expression and communication of an idea as it helps the author establish the viability of their idea based on the kind of feedback given. Overall, expression and communication of an idea involve the interplay of various aspects and elements that facilitate the effectiveness with which the same occurs.

In conclusion, effective expression and communication of an idea require the careful understanding and incorporation of factors that are essential in the communication and expression of an idea. The initial and key factor in communication and expression of an idea is establishing the target audience as the idea is developed, communicated and expressed around an audience. Other factors such as body language, incorporating art, as well as creating rapport with the audience. Credibility, as well as using supplementary elements such as art cab help facilitate the effective communication and expression of an idea (Chase & Shamo, 2014). Therefore, when developing an idea for communication and expression, it is important to incorporate all the factors that will enable it is done effectively.
