One needs to conduct in-depth research on the source and confirm the accuracy of the information. This includes checking the domain and URL to establish the legitimacy of the website. Additionally, it is essential to check other components such as the availability of more information on the site, such as the leadership, goals, and mission of the website. One can help their close friends to evaluate sources by emphasizing the need to be vigilant and not trusting everything that they come across in the media. Encouraging readers to do background research such as conducting the reverse image search can help to indicate whether the source is the original owner or not.

Additionally, it is essential to look out for the comments. Often, fake news is after viewership and getting the attention of readers as opposed to passing the accuracy of the information. For that reason, they often emphasize advertising information on various platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, to reach more people. Training the individual to help them understand all the factors they need to look out to ensure that that news is not fake is crucial.
