As a separate branch of the government, the courts have a duty to ensure that the citizens are protected based on their constitutional rights, provide a due process which is procedural and maintain the rule of law. Courts are the cornerstones, pillars of the society providing core purpose of the government – adjudicating legal matters.

The purpose of a Court Administration is providing registry, cooperate service and judicial to the law courts. The daily responsibility of the judicial administration lies within an individual court. By administrative practice and statute, every court assigns support staff, manages the records of the court and supervises the spending. The operations of the federal judiciary are completely separate from those of the legislative and the executive branches, but as required by the Constitution, it works with them. Usually, the Congress is responsible for the passing of federal laws and are usually confirmed by the president after signing them. Federal courts listen to the cases which involve the constitutionality of the law, most cases which involve public ministers and U.S. Ambassador's laws and treaties, disputes between states bankruptcy cases and admiralty law.

Courts are responsible for the outcome of a case as they decide what should be done over what was done; they decide a person's fate depending on the type of crime committed. Also, courts provide peaceful means of solving private disputes which cannot be solved easily among people. Depending on the type of crime or dispute, a case may end up either in the state courts or the federal court. There are different types of federal courts each having a different function. The Supreme Court, which is the highest court in the land, Court of Appeals, which sits right below the Supreme Court, Bankruptcy Appellate Panels which listens to appeals regarding decisions of the court about bankruptcy, District Courts, Bankruptcy Courts, and Article I Courts (United States Courts, n.d. a). Each court has a chief judge who oversees the daily court administration; when it comes to significant policy verdicts are given by the court judges working together. The court clerk plays the executive role appointed by the court for the purposes of carrying out the administrative functions of the court. The clerk is responsible for the non-judicial functions of the court in accordance with the policies that the court sets and directly report through the chief judge to the court. The functions of the clerk may include dockets and record maintenance of the court, administering the system of court's jury, providing court reporters and interpreters, providing support services for the courtroom, and sending official summonses and court notices among others (United States Courts, n.d., a).

One of the most crucial components of the federal judicial administration is the Federal Judicial Center (FJC). Established in the year 1967, FJC is for the purpose of meeting educational needs and researches of the federal judiciary and headed by federal judges (Hays, 2017). Also, the staff of FJC undertakes court operation procedure studies with interests in experiments and innovations which might of value within the judiciary. Systems of operation within state courts are usually under different organizational models. Some states operations of a trial court are in accordance to the local procedures and rules; any authority that is centralized in the state applies limited authority, whereas in some states the structure of trial courts is relatively complex with the local units that are bound with each other under central authority (NCSC, 2012).

Federal laws, constitutionality, are decided by the judicial branch and resolves the emerging disputes regarding them (federal laws) (United States Courts, n.d. b). However, in order to enforce the decisions of the court judges tend to rely on the executive branch of the government. The legal idea of administrative aspect and due process procedure of efficiency clearly point on how courts process different cases as well as interact with the litigants. The management of case flows is key to integrating the components of administration and due process into a judicial administration, which is effective (NCSC, 2012).
