My field experience report is based on attending a professional workshop for special education educators. Other than that, this report is based on teaching k-12 students with language disability on the legal, safe and ethical use of Information Technology. These two field experiences are related because both involve special education; teaching of students with disabilities.
The workshop was administered by experts in special education and focused on handling students with language disabilities among other disabilities that students have. I used writing to note down important concepts in special education as was said by the various instructors. I took the notes directly from the words of the instructors and put them in writing. During the seminar, I had the opportunity to interact with other special education teachers, and we discussed some challenges that face special education teaching. We shared ideas and experiences with various techniques. This was a good platform to share and gather ideas on teaching techniques that have proven to work with special students. Additionally, the facilitators used videos that illustrated certain concepts, and that enabled me to understand the concepts even in a better way.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
In the ethical use of Information and Technology, I handled a class of thirty students with language disabilities. The students had a variety of speech problems including stammering, fluency problems, and speech among other problems. I used videos to show the students how well to handle information and technology because some had difficulties with reading. On engaging the students who asked questions, I allowed them to relay their questions by word of writing because they could not speak properly yet they could hear. I employed graphic design to show the student images for specific concepts. I used this approach because a good number of the students were unable to read and comprehend the texts well. To evaluate the students, I read the questions and assisted them in understanding. I then allowed them to choose an appropriate answer from multiple choices.
