The statue , which is in the form of a woman, symbolizes several things. First, the stature (woman) wears a crown with seven spikes, and it is raising a torch high using one hand. It symbolizes power and freedom from something. Also, the woman the statue represents is carrying a tablet which has a message, ‘JULY IV MDCCLXXVI.' The figure must have been made to convey a specific message. All the parts of the statue were designed in a way to express one important message collectively. The enormous nature of the statue makes it visible from far. According to my view, the statue must have been made to convey the message of liberty. Any individual looking at the statue can conceive this message. The fact that the statue presents a woman alone depicts a significant signal because shows people, especially visitors that the place on which the statue stands is a land where liberty prevails. Women, just like the statue suggests can enjoy freedom in this land.

The crown on the head symbolizes power just like those kings and queens use or used during their reign. The crown, therefore, suggests that there is power in liberty. The torch also helps bring forth the message of freedom. It seems to represent the light of liberty which shines all over the globe. The flame sends the message that liberty and freedom must prevail in all the Connors of the earth. The spikes represent geographical features of the world such as the continents or the seas. They bring out the message that liberty should prevail in all parts of the world. The writings on the tablet carried on the left hand translate to the Independence Day of the United States. An Independence Day signifies liberty and freedom of a people. This further helps to convey the central message of the statue which is liberty.
