Reason for selecting topic
Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) include crops, microorganisms and animals that have genetic alterations in a way that is not natural. The primary focus of this paper will be GM foods which are developed widely in the modern society. The foods have been promoted widely due to their perceived benefits either through nutritional value or durability, lower prices of product or both in some cases. However, it is evident that there are social and ethical issues that downplay the benefits realized.
Thesis statement : Despite the significant evidence of benefits provided by the GM foods, there are numerous social and ethical concerns associated with their continued production that diminish the impact of the benefits.
