‘‘Gifts from the Sea’’ is an inspirational book that highlights the lives of the American women during the mi-20th century. Marrow her great meditations on other aspects such as love, marriage solitude age as well as contentment among others that shaped the lives of many Americans during that time. After reading through the book, I have realized the deeper meaning of the opportunities in life and appreciate every experience in life. I have come to value the relationships we often take for granted in life. Being young and adventurous, are all part of me, I therefore learnt to practice humility and positively embrace the gift of freedom. Though, sometimes I tend to experience is a mixture of emotions due to the surrounding forces, the book have taught me to remain grateful. Moreover, the fact that the writer uses shells to describe real issues in life is so touching. It is a reminder to the reader to always perceive things positively rather than being too judgmental. In fact, through th reading, I have leant to love more and hate less.

The book also emphasizes on the importance of appreciation. Marrow points out that relationships should remain pure, true, smooth and without blemish. I totally agree with her owning to the fact that we true love is seen great relationship. She further argues that it is vital to value the beauty of our surrounding regardless of the circumstances and I totally concur with her. I strongly believe that staying away from people is not a sign of negativity, but it is an act of having the desire to grow through personal reflections. As I live through life, I will forever remember reflect upon these words. Even I as grow older, get married someday, I will remember the great lessons that just like life, and marriage is a journey full of mixed experiences. In addition, the key to the best relationships, be it marriage, family or friendship is to embrace humility. I shall practice loving others unconditionally, be more sensitive to issues around me and be confident with myself and the choices I make. I shall also find things to do that will always remind me of my real worth.
