The term globalization has been used widely and among many players. The term has been misused in some quarters, while in others it has generated more sense than it used to. Globalization is the international influence of an idea or organizational goals, and business takes hold. The globalization has assumed the dimension of movements and ideas that have been eternalized by the emotional connection of the truths behind them. Therefore, globalization has created plenty of current affairs issues such as gender and roles. As Beneria et al. explains in his discussions, globalization has led to success in most of the issues that were controversial in the past.

The book addresses various ways by which globalization impacted on the social and economic empowerment of women and another gender in the modern world. The global sanitization of the women rights among other factors such as the movement of labor from the men dominated to the more gender-expansive environments is attributed to eh rapid development of globalization plus its embracement across the continents ( Benería et al., 2015) . The book also discusses how gender policies have continued to encourage participation of the women and included them in the efforts to develop the economies, both at national and international levels. The book sees and addresses the development of the feminist economy which has benefitted the general global economy scale at large.

The neoliberal globalization has come with its sets of challenges. As Beneria et al. observe, there is plenty to be thankful for, including the absorption of the women into the world of unfamiliarity ( Benería et al., 2015) . The globalization has generated new job descriptions that demand the physicality of presence in the places of work. With the predominant role of women being family makers, it has become increasingly hard for the women to fit into such occupation. The glaring inequalities have instead given men an upper hand in addressing these challenges as they appear.
