The degree of discrimination varies across the countries over time. Therefore, the term gender discrimination arises in different societies where a male is grouped at a better position than the female which results in the difference in social, economic, and political positioning between men and women.
For several years now, the objectives of reducing the gender discrimination have become emerging issues in the international organizations and the national issues. Different scholars have come out with ideas on how the problem can be solved both at national and international levels. There are laws set to prevent the issue in the workplace. For example, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces the federal laws which state that every employee in the workplace should be treated equally regardless of their gender (Fieser, 2015). Therefore, it is considered unlawful for any employer to refuse to offer a job position due to gender. The law covers hiring, dismissals, compensation and other employment specification as well as employment opportunities available. There are several cases of an organization failing to accomplish its sets goals and objectives due to the lack of the best method to eliminate gender discrimination. In this case, women are denied the chance to enjoy some of the employment benefit and this contributes to their low productivity in the organization.

Gender discrimination has always been an issue of concern. Indeed, it is treated as an unethical action to have gender discrimination especially in the workplace where it is often attributed to the abuse of power of men in the authority. Additionally, gender discrimination arises when both men and women perform the same tasks, which requires the use of the same knowledge and skills but men are rewarded differently. The organization’s culture and structure are defined by its particular narrative structure of gender citizenship and by the approach used to confront the issue of gender discrimination. The gender inequality should always be eliminated in the workplace and equal opportunities should be provided to both men and women. Indeed, the gender inequality elimination would help to improve the employees’ skills and hence increase their productivity in the organization. The self- interest theory should not be perceived as indicating that men are superior towomen. The change of negative perception may contribute to the employees’ performance improvement (Fieser, 2015).Indeed, the gender inequality elimination would help to improve the employees’ skills, reduce poverty in the society and expand the labor market.
Ethical theory
The self-interest theory reveals on the way gender discrimination should be eliminated in the work place. The theory states that men always consider themselves to be superior to women. People have for years always perceive that men should be favored at the expense of women and this contributes to the increase of gender discrimination in the workplace and also in the daily life. Additionally, the self-interest theory defines the individual moral norms. In real life situations, the self-interest theory is abused where people perceive men should be treated differently from women and at the same time, their duties and responsibilities should be different from that of women. All people should be treated with respect and care and provided with equal opportunity in the workplace(Trentham and Larwood, 2011).The self- interest theory should be implemented in the organization to provide the employment benefit to all people regardless of the gender position. Additionally, the management should engage all the employees in the organization decision making process without gender discrimination. The employees feel motivated and hence improve their performances as well. Therefore, organizations should implement various necessary techniques to eliminate gender discrimination in the work place

The elimination of gender discrimination helps to reduce poverty in the society. The poverty level increases where women work without payment or often receive a low income compared to men. In most cases, women are provided with the household management and other responsibilities which include, caring for the children, the elderly and the sick (Karsten, 2014). Providing equal opportunity to both men and women would contribute to poverty reduction and lead to the achievement of economic stability in a country. This is because all the individuals regardless of their gender are provided with the opportunity to apply their skills and competency towards the country development goals.thus, gender discrimination should be the key aspect in improving the employees’ performance.
Additionally, gender discrimination elimination expands labor markets and improves employment opportunities for all. A recent survey revealed that women represent more than forty percent of the global labor force and have much underutilized knowledge and skills. The full participation of women in the productivity processes and labor force would increase domestic income (Bader, 2010). Indeed, closing the gender gaps in the labor market that prevails between men and women would increase the productivity of a country since all the skills would be fully utilized in the production processes. The full utilization of skills from both men and women help an organization to develop and increase its productivity as well as the personal development of employees (Heilman and Caleo 2015).
There are various ways of eliminating gender discrimination in the workplace and the daily life situations. First, gender inequality can be eliminated through offering education to the employees on the best way to appreciate every person in the organization regardless of the gender (Heilman and Caleo 2015). This would reduce the workplace gender discrimination since every employee would be treated equally and offered equal opportunity to the employment positions. The equal treatment of employees does benefit not only to the employees, but also to the organization since diverse talents and skills are implemented in the production processes. Noticeably, the organizations that discourage gender discrimination always achieve their objectives efficiently. Therefore, the organization should implement gender discrimination policies to improve the individual productivity
Secondly, encouraging critical thinking in the media also facilitates in the reduction of gender discrimination in the workplace and in daily life situations. As a matter of fact, the media often represents a negative perception on both genders. Sometimes women are presented to be weak and should be not be given equal opportunities to men (Fieser, 2015). While sometimes the media makes men out to be more superior that women and should be the leaders or lead the women. People should be educated on critical thinking, learn how to avoid characterizations and the best way to interpret the media to eliminate the negative perception that is created through gender discrimination.
The implementation of affirmative action programs also helps to reduce gender discrimination in the workplace. Affirmative action in the organization will not only reduce gender discrimination but is also a way of reducing poverty and racism in the society. , according to Karsten (2014), “women in New Jersey’s capital earn a median annual salary that is 138.5% of a man’s, and that is just over $37,000 a year.” Additionally, it creates a favorable environment where all employees work and appreciate each other for the achievement of organizational goals as well the personal development (Fieser, 2015). Therefore, affirmative actions are key aspects to eliminate gender discrimination in the work place.
Comparative analysis
Equally important, the main purpose of the presented research is to show the natures of gender discrimination and the effect on the people’s lives. It is revealed that the gender discrimination affects employees in various ways. For example, in the workplace, women are profoundly affected where they performed the same task with men but rewarded differently. Everyone has the right to be treated right, fairly and with respect, regardless of their gender in the workplace. Additionally, the government should pay attention to the consequences of gender discriminationand enforce laws that reduce gender discrimination(Blau& Kahn, 2000).This would highly contribute to the reduction of poverty and increase the labor force in the economy.
Additionally, the gender discrimination in the organization would contribute to the improvement of employees’ performance as well as a motivational factor where all the employees are equally engaged in the organizational affairs. This would facilitate the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. Indeed, it is a fundamental aspect for each organization to eliminate gender discrimination in the provision services to the employees. For example, Goodyear had undercut the federal statutory protection against pay discrimination. Initially, female employees could not afford to labor but fortunately, the congress ruled out the damage with legislative action(Green, 2008). The statutory amendment provided the employees with an opportunity to challenge the unlawful discrimination and other forms of workplace bias.

While gender discrimination in the workplace may affect both individual and the entire organization performance, some of the concerned people who are for the gender discrimination may have valid points that support the gender discrimination in the workplace. They consider that there is the need to have the work division where male employees are left to do specific tasks which female employees may not perform well. This would help to increase the organization productivity. Perhaps, the organization should offer solution to the problems that may arise due to gender discrimination in the workplace. Although the gender discrimination is supported in the work place, there are high possibilities that the organization productivity will be affected.
