Families are vital entities in the society and the state in general. The government has implemented the measures to ensure families have a sustainable livelihood. This is seen through the establishment of regulations that prohibit child labor and abuse. The support for basic education is promising as it gives all the children a chance to be educated. Another aspect that is promising is with regard to marriage and divorce. With the increase in the number of single parents in the current society, changing the property ownership regulation is commendable. With the established laws and regulation that affects the decision making in a family setup, the government has done great improvements to ensure the wellbeing of the children through different regulations (Departments for communities and local governemt, 2017)

The article indicating the increase in the number of household with unemployed parent is enlightening. I support the aspect that illustrates that unemployment affects the lives of the jobseekers as well as their families and this might result to long life devastating consequence. This is because, when the sole bread winner of a family loses a job, the ability of the family to be supported is paralyzed and thus this leads to frustrations. The family members on the other hand, in the search to meet for their unmet needs, they end up in criminal incidents such as theft or drug dealing.

The government has been responsive to family issues in different aspects; they have reviewed regulations and laws (Carlsen, 2000) . These are through the security funds that are issued to the parents for their support. The protective regulations, protects the lives of children living in hard conditions as well as orphaned. The extension and expansion of the unemployment payment is not a government responsibility but the entire population responsibility. Poverty cannot be eliminated by these payments but using collective responsibilities and understanding the cause of the problems.
