Forklift
A forklift is a machine which is used mostly in industries and other institution to carry heavy loads from one location to another. Not everybody uses forklift accordingly. Some of the misuses of forklift include; driving too fast, a Forklift is a machine which should be driven in a very responsible way. This is dangerous because the machine is unstable, and when driven too fast when carrying a heavy load, it can easily fall over. Another misuse is not checking the capacity of the machine (Park et al., 2016) . The machine operator can easily overload the forklift without checking its capacity. It is dangerous to overload a forklift because overloading will risk the safety of the forklift and those who are working nearby. A good example that I saw is when the forklift operator at the plant was hurrying to offload luggage from a truck. The hurry made him knock over other people who were working nearby, causing a lot of injuries to them.
Training
During the training of Front end leader personnel, people working around and the operators, there are major points that must be considered. Some of the points that must be included; what are the potential hazards. The workers should know what exact hazards such as fire, noise, dust, and rollovers. Another point will be the protective equipment such as hard hats and the safety glasses they need while they are on duty or within the vicinity. Safety procedures will be another point for the training lesson. Procedures such as the daily inspections, and the lockout procedure for the equipment used. The final point will be the shielding against flying materials and any moving impact that may be caused. Reason for the above points is because they will help the workers to understand the machines and prepare for any worst situation. A good Example that I encountered was when a colleague did now wear his hard hat while he was on site. A rock blast hit him on his head. Due to poor response, he suddenly died. Therefore the training will help a lot.
